New Catholic radio station coming

Msgr. John-Lewis

“Dominica Catholic Radio” is now just months away from officially hitting the airwaves.

The new catholic radio station owned by the diocese of Roseau represents the revival of efforts by Dominica’s catholic community to promote evangelization through radio.

It has been running test signals since November 25, 2011 and can be heard live on its website http://dominicacatholicradio.org/

Director of the Pastoral Centre, Monsignor William John Lewis has been telling Dominica News Online that the Church sees the station as another avenue to make God’s word known to the populace and address the needs of society.

According to Father John Lewis, “the station is going to focus directly on what Catholicism is all about in terms of its foundation and mission.”

He says in addition, programmes which directly influence and respond to the needs of society will also be broadcast, including medical issues, legal aid and family issues.

Service organisations with a keen interest in community service will also be a feature on the station.

The station’s predecessor – Pointe Michel-based Voice of the Islands Radio (VOI) failed, the monsignor admitted because of “financial issues.”

He is optimistic that the new station will avoid those pitfalls.

He highlighted approaches for “Our Catholic Community” that are intended to help the new station survive.

These include limiting its employment to a small cadre of paid staff, sponsorship and programmes run by volunteers.

According to Monsignor John Lewis, the success of the station would depend on the sponsorship of its listeners.

VOI had also to a large extent depended on that kind of sponsorship.

The new broadcasting entity’s current challenges include finding an overall manager and organizing equipment.

It already boasts of having a board of directors, a management team, and an advisory board.

You made me laugh. Well, the priests are handsome and friendly. Was it a father or brother figure? I hope. :)
I never had a crush on one and it never crossed my mind. I view them as a consecrated Priest and Father as we call them, to be respected.

Paganism, falsehood, idol worship, worship of too many gods, saints, all in the hell fire if Dominicans don’t repent from this European Religion.

why don’t you repent from suicide bombing

      • Muslim
        April 6, 2012

Islam does not teach “suicide bombing.” Islam in Arabic means submission to do the will of All Mighty God. Allah is the Arabic word meaning God. A Muslim is one who submits to God. As Salam which means peace is an attribute of Allah and the one who fully submits to Allah attains contentment and true peace in this life and the next.

In Islam we love and follow the prophets from Noah to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon them all. We believe in all of the Messengers and Prophets including Jesus Christ son of Mary peace be upon him.

Just as Jesus (p) worshiped God directly, he commanded the children to do the same. Thus when we look at the practice of his honored mother Mary (peace be upon her) and his disciples, they never worshiped Jesus (p). They worshiped God directly without any mediators. It is this example we follow, total obedience to Allah/God and his prophets.

The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was the last prophet sent to mankind. He reaffirmed what was taught in the original Torah, Psalms and Gospels. Allah revealed to him a book like previous messengers a book called the Quran which teaches a complete divine way of life.

We do not worship, invoke or pray to any created thing, saints, Jesus or anything that is not God. When one does this, this is shirk, shirk is an unpardonable sin in the sight of God. Shirk means to associate another in worship along with God by means of using them as mediators between man and God, statues etc. We worship God directly as He has commanded.

In short, I do not intend to be disrespectful to the teachings of Catholic Church yet they are in manifest error.

Oh Muslim, if only I knew you and what I would say to you, only God knows.
You may have been a Catholic who renounced your faith. If so, it is so sad that you lost it and lost out and maybe eternally.
Holy Scriptures speaks of people like you who make such unloving statements.

The New Testament – Galatians 5:7:9 – Be Not Misled – You were running well who hindered you from following the truth? That enticement did not come from The One (Our Lord Jesus Christ) who called you. A little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough.

You better believe it that The Catholic Church has the answers. God gave the authority, the mandate only to the Catholic Church. He never gave it to Mohammed. Keep in kind Mohammed was a fallen-away, disobedient Catholic.

2 Corinthians 7:2:3 – Make room for us; we have not wronged anyone, or ruined anyone, or taken advantage of anyone.

I urge you to respect the religion of others and keep the peace for:

Hebrews 12:14 – Strive for peace with everyone, and for that holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

The Holy Scripture is a powerful teaching tool which everyone should know about, read and study that they may love God with all their heart and soul and love one another and to live in harmony and peace with everyone that they might obtain eternal salvation. Take this seriously.

If you are actually a Muslim, you too are worshiping a false god, because the Koran which the Islamic religion is based on is not the word of the living God Jehovah, Islam is a false religion who’s main ideology is to kill!

Be reminded that bin Laden was a Muslim, who killed in the name of your god!

Now I agree that the Roman Catholics have been involved into a false teaching for quite a long time, nonetheless, there false teachings can be identified:

      1. Called no man on earth father, neither Rabbi!

      2. Confess your sins to one another, it did not say to an Roman Catholic priest, if I offend a priest that means I have sinned against him, by the same token, if he offends me, he has also sinned against me, thus when we realized that we sinned against each other both of us should confess our wrong behavior, to one another, and seek the forgiveness from the person we sinned against.

Now remember here the definition of sin is ” transgression” ( breaking of some law, be it God, or man’s law) . Since all man are born in sin according to the word of God, no priest have a direct pipeline to God that you and I do not have. The cannot pray to god to forgive your sin, or anybody sin for that matter, people have to do that for themselves, and not going to kneel in some box booth, and talking about bless me father for I have sinned, the Bible never instructed anyone to do that!

It does not instruct anyone to bow and kiss the ring one any man’s finger!

      3. As for the Rosemary, that is baloney, no place in the Bible God Jehovah, or his son Jesus instructed anyone to pray to his mother, as a matter of fact Jesus was in a house teaching and preaching, some drew to his attention that his ( and this is not verbatim to the Scriptures) but when they told him that his brothers was outside, he responded by telling them those who does the will of my father are my brothers and sisters.

      4. There is no such place as poggatory, where people will suffer for a time before going to heaven, and these thieves collects money to pray for the souls of dead people in whatever place they call it.

      That is false teachings!

      5. Holly water, and ashes on your forehead total nonsense.

      6. Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, Lent and all that garbage,is not in God plans, nonetheless, Jesus commanded that we observe, the Passover!

      7. No so called pope, has any authority to declare any man or woman a saint!

If you are a true believer on Jesus, Christ, and do the will of God, then you are a Saint of God. How many times we read in the Bible where it refers to people as ” saints of God.”

Finally this thing where they worship this man in Rome, by calling him ” the holly farther, who they say live in some holly sea in Rome is another pile of baloney, that man is one of the most sinful human alive, if he was in a position to deal with the homosexual priests who raped hundreds of little boys, and girls across the globe, and cover it up, what kind of holly man could that German creep be!

When we visit Rome, we did not find a holly sea existing there!

Apart from that if one remove the man created shiray from the Roman Catholic Church, they could be compared to any other Christian Religion! There are other false teachings which I could mention, however, to limit the amount of what I have to say I will end it here.

The Muslim Religion however, is the most false, and dangerous religion on the face of the earth. don’t ask me to relate it to, because I deal with a sick daughter, who was born on the island Antigua, who joined Farrakhan set, and automatically lost it, right now I am not even speaking to her because of that crap!

I have a grandson, who’s mind is so messed up, some white girl try to date him, the boy called me and told me he is scared to date her, because white people are devils, and he fear if he dates her God will punish him.

And that is the sort of damage your religion does to people, you religion brainwashes the followers, and program them mainly to kill!

Are you God? It appears that you must be brain damaged. Who are you to make such a statement? If only you would think before you talk and think what will Our Lord Jesus Christ say. Do you not know that you are offending Him? Every time you make a derogatory comment and wish others evil and also not success, you offend Our Lord and are condemning yourself. It appears that you know nothing about what is contained in specifically the New Testament. You are another one who has much to learn about love and encouraging others.   :twisted:

    April 5, 2012

I hope church, and state will be clearly separated!

    • Justice and Truth
      April 6, 2012

      @ Hoping

You better not hope. It is God’s world. You should know that He is the Creator and Ruler of the world and always will be. He governs the world. He has the whole world in His hands and holds the key to life and death.
Church and State belong to God. Human beings are the ones who operate both. They also are Christians especially in Dominica who worship God be it hypocritically as God knows.
How could anyone in their right mind separate Church from State? God is every where and nothing is hidden from Him.
Only fools make such statements, whether in a big country or a small one. These are they who need God. They think that they do not need God because of their positions and material possessions and in their lack of common sense they can keep Him out by a few mere words and practices. Their words are in vain – futile. The day will come when they will need God. One day they will meet Him for their judgment. He is The One who will judge them.
How foolish could they be to separate Church from State. There is a price and an eternal one to pay for this. Tell that to everyone who foolishly speaks of separation of Church and State. They lack intelligence, mortal and spiritual enlightenment and appear to be on the path of perdition as they also lead those who support them in this ignorant statement to separate Church from State. Put on your thinking cap and let them know it.
Some members of humanity are very good at creating division, lack of happiness and peace. This is why Our Lord Jesus Christ said, prior to his crucifixion and death, “The rulers of this world have condemned themselves.” The Word of the Lord will always remain.
      Wisen up!

Teach the faith! Defend the Faith! Pass on the Faith! This is the responsibility of all Christian Catholics. The laity is not exonerated.
Congratulations to the authorities of the new Dominica Radio Station. Catholics do need a good Radio Station which will transmit and teach Catholic matters and assist to build-up and enhance their knowledge and spiritual growth.
I have realized in this era it is imperative that Catholics know their faith, the beliefs and teachings that they may not be swayed by false indoctrinators of our times, listen to those who inform them that we are not Christians and renounce their Faith. Many worldwide have done so.
As a U.S. Priest said on the Catholic Radio Station I listen to: “Did they not know what they had and what they left? They left Jesus and Mary for fellowship…?” I have heard a lot about our Catholic Faith from the right people. I have also heard some people criticizing our faith and have had to stand up for the faith. Knowledge of it is important to defend it. I always state, amicably, if those enemies will allow me to do so.
It is one thing to go to Church, it is another to grow in faith, knowledge of same and strive for holiness and a godly prayerful spirit.
Aside from calling it a Catholic Radio Station which it obviously is why not dedicate it to Our Lord and/or Our Lady whichever names you choose in their honor or have you already done so. Blessings, graces and success will surely abound.
I listen to a U.S. Catholic Radio Station which is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. In short, it is WLOF.
I hope the Holy Rosary, the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and a daily Holy Mass are also broadcasted at appropriate times.
As with everything it costs money to operate this undertaking. Organize an annual fundraising during certain programs. These could be successful. I recognize that listeners could only donate what they can afford.
A call-in program would be excellent with different hosts.
I wish you overall success. God bless you! May the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Dear Lady, Our Spiritual Mother be with you. No exception also the Angels and the Saints.

Well they better make thier programs current and relevant. Dominica have nuff radio stations now and if they truly want to evangelise(to the spiritually weak) they have to ensure that the people can connect with thier programs.

The mainconcerns remains financial sponsorship. The economy remains slow and the people are stretched thin. All the same thier presence is welcomed.

    • Justice and Truth
      April 5, 2012

      @ Matriculation

The program will also have to be interesting so that others will listen. I hope they have learned from the previous mistake.
I listen to a Catholic Radio Station which transmits via Buffalo, N.Y. Fortunately for me I may be residing in the right location in Toronto, able to get reception. A good radio with a built-in shortwave is important to get this Station. My household has two smaller ones which use batteries when taken out and also when traveling and to listen to secular radio programs.
This Radio Station is usually on 24/7, asleep or not or out. I can never get tired of listening to this Station. I have learned a lot from listening to it. It has enhanced my Catholic knowledge and spirituality as well, making me into a more fervent Catholic.
There are also call-in programs and listeners can also send emails or Tweet.
There are various Catholic programs by different hosts all over the U.S. There are times I could get a good laugh as well. They are not all serious Catholic matters. It also transmits worldwide Catholic news and also general news of consequence. Actually it is an affiliation of Eternal Word Television (EWTN) Global Catholic Radio in corporation with EWTN – TV.
The U.S. Radio Stations and EWTN TV of all operate solely through fundraising of listeners. The Radio Station has two annual fundraising, one in May – Spring and one in November – the Fall – Autumn. This is how they survive. I do contribute as well. I also receive a monthly TV and Radio schedule of programs. In time I would be happy to financially assist this Radio Station and will spread this news to fellow Dominicans overseas especially in Toronto. If you are a Catholic, you could do likewise. People contribute whatever they can afford and could help in different respects.
For further information non-Catholics as also some Muslims listen-in and call-in from time to time.
Some people have converted to Catholicism and Catholics who were not practicing or were tepid in the faith have grown to love the Church and are now fervently practicing their faith. A good Catholic Radio serves a good and holy purpose.
Since it is a program for specifically DA Catholics, Catholics should also offer suggestions and if feasible they could be implemented.
I do hope Dominica Radio Station will be a success. It needs the encouragement and funding from DA Catholic listeners.
The Radio Station authorities should contact EWTN and seek advice. I am certain that EWTN would be too happy to assist them.
I thought that I would relay this to you and others as well. Pray also for its success. It is said, “God governs the world but prayers govern God” and sincere ones. God bless!
