Newly installed Prime Minister Mia Mottley, has announced a 30-member Cabinet, including two ambassadorial-level advisors, according to online publication, Barbados Today.
These are former Deputy Prime Minister Dame Billie Miller, who is to be appointed Ambassador at Large and Plenipotentiary, and economist Dr Clyde Mascoll, who is to be appointed as Chief Economic Counsellor in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment headed by Mottley.
In making the announcement, the Prime Minister said Dame Billie and Mascoll would attend Cabinet as necessary given the task that is required to get Barbados out of its “perilous” economic state.
Ms Mia u will do well God is in control some people think that they know
It all better than others Gods guidance
Just want to wish Ms. Motley and her newly installed government optimum success . When there is no opposition in parliament, there is a tendency for infighting, they have to guard against this. It’s my sincere hope also that this government will set a new model for other Caribbean governments to follow. This paradigm shift should be that they govern for all the people, not just for their party’s supporters. Ms. Motley and her Cabinet colleagues should stay humble, be inclusive, be fair, and always keep in touch with the people. Good luck Mia!
If a country is in a perilous economic star the last thing, in my mind, that you need is to bloat your government with all its attendent expenses. Do you increase the nummer of directors and advisors when your company is struggling? I guess they all get an official vehicle and support staf I wish Ms. Motley all the best but I do believe this is not the right way to start.
Wow! That’s a bad start, a very bad start and shows that she was not prepared to lead
