Nineteen year-old Nadira Lando of the Kalinago Territory is Miss Dominica 2012. Miss Lando outperformed five other contestants to win the title at the Carnival Queen Show held last night.
Lando’s win gives the Kalinago Territory its second beauty pageant title for carnival 2012, just twelve days after Adicia Burton of the Salybia Primary School won the Carnival Princess show.
First runner-up in the Ms. Dominica pageant is Ameka Cognet while Kimberly Jno. Charles has taken the second runner-up position.

Goodday Ms. Pussina is just back from TnT. I made my stop to Dominica just for the queen and yet again Ms. Griffith Failed to listen to Ms. Pusina. I warn you, Dow say I didn’t. And why were they pronouncing your name as In-diania? Anyways it looks like she had a good team behind her including the talent being executed by Karmala I was looking at her from where I was can’t let the cat out the bag but Karmala was on eagde to make sure Ms. Griffith delivered a knock off of her 1998 talent with a different subject matter area. The Talent had potential but Ms. Griffith was all over the place hence her control of breath she was out of breath.
Secondly it looks like Ms. Griffith watch a lot of Americia’s next Top model and copy the style of Ms.Jay. Puss love this is a pageant lord and stumping and lavway papa I was shaking my head cause she was extra extra extra I think if she had tone it down as one of the posters indicated she could have place. Hey look at it Ms. Griffith can as I told her look at the tape of her sister show and her show and come back a refined person next year. I warn you child. I’m an expert and what I do puss I make stars out of people.
Anyways moving along.. Ameka Cognet was the underdog and did very well she reminded me of Ms. Paul in 2003 the only issue I had was the designs of her swimwear and evening wear if those two elements was of a more enhance standard with no doubt she would have been the winner. Kimberly Jno. Charles was exceptional. I think she walked the best in all runs had the body height and look as a queen and I think overall would have been the queen if a few of the judges didn’t have there bias as it relates to looks cause Ms. Lindo didn’t do a great job walking nor I don’t believe she deserved all the aways for the different runs.
But I think this show was the poorest of them all it event beat 2004 which went down in the history of being the worst queenshow. I don’t think there was a clear cut winner so Ms.Lindo all the best puss and work on that walk you was bumping the whole night. Love you. But Ms. Griffith you was my queen but you didn’t listen.
Congratulations to Miss Dominica wish you well and all the best for the regional pageants trust me i can see wining all the regional compettitons with a little more traing you good to go best of luck.

Most of you are talking about how she answered her question, I would like to see you all up there in front of thousands of people and then you tell your story… Let the young lady be, she went to do her part and she did her best, the judges thought so otherwise she would no be where she is today…

the talents leave much to be desired. please put more efforts into them. i was left really unimpressed
well judged except for the intelligence part – that should go to Kimberly Jno.Charles. (side note judges – the queen’s swimwear was bunching at the back – open your eyes next time).
I lament the fact that the queen did not get the miss intelligent sash. That is what we need from our queens to represent us properly oversees.
The queen evening gown is almost identical to Ms Stkitts 2010-2011
This is soo true. The feathers are the only thing missing. That gown must change for Jaycees. It is just too soon to bring the same dress back in the judges faces.
I think we should recognize Miss. Griffith for her hard work and exceptional performance on that evening. The young lady for Goodwill was neck to neck with Miss. Lando. I honestly thought she would have placed. From the commentary via the radio and the show itself she was in the lead. She spoke every well, was graceful, confident and consistent. People leaving the park felt she should have placed and if the judges robbed her of her achievement as an eye witness I say this, Indiana Griffith, you did Excellent. 1st runner up should have gone to you. Best in spectacular wear, best in swim wear and best evening wear. You had the best walk in evening wear even if it was a bit fast. I love you attitude. stay positive and beautiful. You are indeed intelligent and you would have done exceptional overseas. Miss Lando congrats. You won so make Dominica proud. I honestly think DFC cheat Miss. Griffith. She should have placed. She was amazing.
I absolutely agree with CorrectionPlz Miss Indiana Griffith was absolutely amazing and exceptional and consistent in all rounds and I really felt she should have placed 1st runner up. I loved almost all the girls performances, indeed, with one or two exceptions (for instance: Most of the girls did a good job in talent round, however I didn’t really get the general idea in Shanelle’s talent, and not everyone nailed it in Question and answer). To my surprise the show ran smoothly in a timely manner and ended sooner than expected compared to most years. I originally anticipated to be there at least until 2am. But I must congratulate organizers for an overall good job. I bid Congratulations to all the girls especially to those who were trying out pageantry for the first time like Indiana, and I think they represented themselves well and made quite an impression. Congratulations Nadira on winning. I do think you deserved to win. Go out there and do your best. …But as I said, to the fault of the judges, and without short changing Ameka, I do believe Indiana should have placed 1st runner-up. She gave us a run for our money and my money’s worth in coming to see the show. I’m very proud of all the girls because I know they work the hardest and get the least recognition or profit in this whole thing. So I will continue to say that I’m proud of all of you,and you did represent yourselves. Simply continue to grow from the experiences you’ve gained, and I hope and pray that new doors of positive opportunities will be opened up to all of you in the future. I think as part and parcel of this entire show all the girls, not just the winner should be able to benefit from being involved/ taking part in this competition as is the case with the overseas competitions. In my opinion, DFC and Dominica (we as a people,) need to step up in this respect and advocate that it be a show where all the girls who have worked so hard truely benefit from it after all the hard work. Congratulations to all the behind the scenes persons who have contributed and worked hard towards a positive end with the girls, and in bringing forth the culmination of the show. Overall it was fun. Good job and congratulations to everyone.
