that’s great – welcoming news – opportunity for jobs and more exposure for the island on a whole – having more hotel rooms to accommodate visitors and locals alike.

Now we a bit more on the island and improve on our customer services – to continue moving forward.

I want this island to be the best it can be – we have so much to offer – we need to be or mark in the region and the world by extension

“Since you are from WESLEY, WHY DO YOU NOT PLEAD WITH YOUR REPRESENTATIVE to get him started on the “planned development of the area in Londonderry designated long ago for the building of more than one resort,”(Observer).

When I say I hope it is something classy, I am honest about that, and that is because I know in Dominica anything goes: I am one who always hope for the best for our country. Regarding the Wesley representative, the representative is an she, in the person of my biological cousin Gloria Dodds (Dods) Shillingford: and before they say I am buying her, here is the relationship, Her late father Jonathan Dods, and my late mother Yvonne Dods are brother, and sister; I hope they get it right.

However, at this point I do not believe anybody can say suggest anything to Gloria that would help to change anything in Wesley, or through out her entire constituency since she has already fail herself, and her constituency, she proved to be ineffective; it seems as if she was simply used to get the votes, in order to secure the seat, and in order to make it easier for the party to from the government.

Be it of her own will, or not her hands seems to be tied behind her back, and to be honest with you I believe she should have long resigned her position, I am not sure she should have gone into politics; as far as I understand nobody in Wesley intends to vote for her next election.

I know there was a plan to develop an area in Londonderry; that sight was earmarked for the building of some Hotels, but the way it is right now it does not appear that under this administration anything is going to happen, as you see what is been completed in Portsmouth right now was taken away from Wesley, and Gloria was powerless to do anything about it; she has no power, talking to her would be a waste of time

Francisco you are such a MORAN. This man is a private citizen..what does he have to do with building of an airport? Learn first to write properly. Read over what you write before you post..have you traveled anywhere besides the hole where you are..

First of all let me point out something very simple here which you wrote which assured me that you are a fool!

“Read over what you write before you post.. ..have you traveled anywhere besides the hole where you are..”

Question: are you aware of the number of syntax error contained in that one line I quoted from your writing?

That’s how stupid you are; correct yourself first before you try to correct me, and as for the hole I live in, you cannot enter, first of all you cannot afford the kind of hole that I am living in; and I assure you I have more than one, and they are not 16 X 12, and as for travel; there are very few places in this world I have not been to; and when I travel, I register into the most luxurious, and expensive hotels in Europe, North America And the Orient, okay, so go and hang yourself you learn something about my life!

You see what I am talking about when I say most of our people are stupid, that some of them should be deprived of the oxygen they breath!

You called me a moron, when you are indeed the moron who cannot read, and understand what you read. I never made the claim that this individual investor should build an International Airport.

All I conveyed is that with the development of Hotels, be they fifty rooms, seven rooms, or what have you, without an International Airport to bring more people to the island, and support the industry, some people may end up loosing their investments. That is not verbatim to what I wrote previously, however, that is what I meant!

It should be noted that because some of you can run into an Internet cafe, and access DNO, and write garbage, that does make you smart, if anything it exposes your stupidity. You foolish conduct proves the late Prime Minister Pierre Charles theory correct when he said “Dominicans ware their stupidity on their foreheads as a badge of honor” he could not be more right!

You prove him correct, you should be ashamed of how ignorant you are!

Atlantique View Resort and Spa, you need to put up BETTER PICTURES showing a WIDER VIEW of these rooms.

Another observation, your waiter did not have a napkin when he served the drink. I think you should change that particular photo to one depicting QUALITY SERVICE.

I applaud your efforts to bring back some normalcy to the Island, GREAT HOSPITALITY is ALWAYS the way to go. You will prosper.

I don’t know why Dominicans are thumbing down or putting negative comments to this. We should welcome these developments people. It adds to out tourism product. Our moms, sisters brothers etc… are going to get jobs which ultimately trickle down to other industries in this society. Farmers produce will be bought, they in turn will be able to provide for their families. We should welcome this business and encourage our friends from overseas to come visit. Let’s promote our beautiful Dominica, Isle of splendor. We are Dominica, are you?

Oh, and if we could only get a jet airstrip to welcome larger flights and not have to depend on Liat, life would be a dream…

    October 16, 2013

Wellit beggars belief. Why can’t we as Dominicans just embrace the progress that is happening in DA why does it always have to resort to critism of citizens who are desperately trying to improve the country and themselves.

I personally see it as a good step forward, evil; minded people of DA stop the negative vibes.
Words have powers to perform it is in the bible so be careful of what comes out of your mouths.

Congratulations to you Mr. William. The place is out standing and it looks real special. I am however very concerned with the timing of such a luxurious resort. I mean what dream you had to invest so much money when our biggest international airline is a 34 Seater called Seaborne, with a government that has no vision whatsoever, a government that competes with its citizens and with their hotel in Cabrits Portsmouth not far from opening?
Man I knew you as a laborite in the 70’s and even contested an election on one of their tickets but I hope you realize that this is very far from the true Labour Party we all knew and loved but instead is a bunch of greedy, corrupt, and godless individuals running in the name of DLP. Wow. I read Dominica news outlets every day; I can’t believe this is the first I have heard or read about this project.

The Dominica media need to step up the reporting of positive news out of Dominica – and – maybe a bit less of the negative, usually unfounded in fact, political discourse of destruction.

Constructive news – like this – needs to be reported when it happens from drawing board through to completion. It is this kind of reporting which will attract more Foreign Direct Investment to the island.

Let us put Dominica first, and, not our political party.

Sunshine, as negative as I like to be, or shall I say I say, write and say what I believe to be true, I cannot critique this one regardless of who is involved into building of this, because Anes de Mia is the ideal place for a Hotel, and Resort.

For two of Dominica’s best sandy beaches are located in that village. When I was a kid we would travel from Wesley to that little village to dive and do spare-fishing ( that is we use fish guns to shoot the fish we caught).

I would only hope what is displayed in the picture is not allthat it is, and my hope is that it is something classy!

Anybody can set up umbrellas, and green chairs on a patch of sand, that however does not make it a resor

With such development, we have a more pressing need for an International Airport, perhaps the desperate politicans in Dominica according to you should now concentrate on building the long overdue International Airport.

I wonder what happened planed development of the area in Londonderry designated long ago for the building of more than one resorts, and I mean they were going to larger than what the Moroccans donated to Portsmouth, as a matter of fact that was supposed to be at Londonderry, Gloria was however railroaded by big Douglas, and snatched it from us!

Francisco Ettienne-Dodds Telemacque….you are such an idiot and an ……..

Your name is “Malayway”, I do not understand patios, but if memory serves me correctly that word in patios seems to mean a poor stray dog! I am not poor, and surely I am not a stray dog, that is why I do not envy people for what they have, and that is why I am above your kind!

You see when I argue how stupid and dumb most Dominicans are; lots of you gets angry at me!

The fact is I am walking on many of you as discarded trash, black trash that is because of your stupidity. I said Anse de Mai has two of the best sandy beaches in all of Dominica, that is something which cannot be refuted. I said anybody can place some umbrellas on a patch of sand, however, does not constitute a Resort.

Tell me what in that I said that give you who seems to be an uneducated jackass a reason to call me an idiot!

If you want to argue that I error by leaving out a few words in my comment which made it difficult for your pea brain to understand what I conveyed, that I can understand, but I think you need to shut your mouth, because you are beneath me as far as inelegance is concern; all of my comments are intellectual, I do not spew rubbish; read me, however unless you have something better than I wrote to contras me, just shut up!

I could careless if the owner whoever he is build his business in clay mud, or sand, I wish him well especially if he is a Dominican by birth, or a foreigner investing in Dominica, I do not envy anybody for what they have.

There is nothing money can buy that I cannot by if I so desire.

We might be commenting on DNO, but surely we are not in the same class. My colors are neither Red, Blue, nor Green I am so stay clear of this kid, before I damage you mentally!

      • October 16, 2013

Francisco, I agree with you in part. To begin with, this place has nothing to do with Government. We do need that International Airport. I think those in charge, or whatever, believe an International Airport means “jumbo jets”, but that is not what it means. We need that Airport for ANYTIME landing and to accommodate bigger planes to carry more passengers and also to avoid transfers and overnight in other places. We do need to get home that same day, day or night.

Further, Anse de Mai is an ideal place for a Hotel, and Resort. It’s flat and convenient for transportation to and from the airport, both towns, and sandy beaches across the street.

Why would you hope “what is displayed in the picture is not all that it is?” Why do you “hope that it is something classy!?” What make you think it is nothing but classy. GO VISIT.

Since you are from WESLEY, WHY DO YOU NOT PLEAD WITH YOUR REPRESENTATIVE to get him started on the “planned development of the area in Londonderry designated long ago for the building of more than one resort,”. THE LAND IS STILL FENCED AND AVAILABLE. If you believe what the “Moroccans donated to Portsmouth was supposed to be at Londonderry,” TALK TO YOUR REP. The Moroccans could still make another donation. Gloria should be a stronger, more dedicated person to not allow herself to be railroaded by ANYONE.
