Bernadette ‘Benni (Blessed)’ Ambo-Vidal, is described as a creative and passionate artist from the beautiful community of Salisbury in Dominica. Bernadette’s life is deeply influenced by her appreciation for humanity, music, and her unwavering desire to serve the Lord. Through her soulful melodies and inspiring lyrics, Bernadette shares her testimony and love for God, aiming to bring hope, healing, and joy to all who listen.
Bernadette’s musical journey began in her childhood; she was raised in a household filled with diverse musical influences from various genres including gospel, calypso, reggae, cadence, zouk, and more. She recalls singing and dancing with her siblings to music from the ‘Greats’ of the 1950s all the way up to the ‘90s’. Her parents, Newton and the late Georgianna Ambo, nurtured her love for music and Christ, instilling in her a strong foundation of faith.
As a young girl, Bernadette expressed her passion for music by creating her ‘song book,’ where she penned down lyrics of her favorite songs and hymns. She further honed her musical talents by learning to play the piano at Valena Letang’s music studio and the Kairi School of Music. She later taught piano classes as a tutor at Valena’s studio. Throughout her teaching career, she actively engaged in music as a teacher and as choir mistress at three different schools.
Miss Pearle Christian, affectionately known as ‘Aunty Pearle,’ played a significant role in shaping Bernadette’s musical discipline and talents. Although she never received formal vocal training, Bernadette credits Aunty Pearle for the invaluable knowledge she gained. Her fond memories of singing as part of the Convent Preparatory School choir led by Miss Christian remain a cherished part of her musical journey.
Bernadette’s primary focus has always been on using her voice to spread positivity and the message of God’s love. In 1999, she recorded the song “Lévè Dominik,” written by Hector ‘Spags’ John, which provided her with an opportunity to share her music with a wider audience. However, singing has never been a career aspiration for her, but rather a testimony and witness to God’s greatness and love.
Bernadette is now embracing the opportunity to share her music with the world through the National Institute for Praise Production. Her music is not intended for entertainment but as a powerful testimony to the King of Kings, Yahweh, El Shaddai. With deep sincerity, Bernadette hopes that her music will touch hearts, bringing hope, healing, and spiritual fulfillment to all who listen.
Bernadette’s highly anticipated debut single “Holy Spirit” was released on July 4th 2023. Through this song, she expresses her profound connection to the divine and her unwavering faith in God. “Holy Spirit” promises to be an inspiring and soul-stirring experience for listeners.

Good try Bernadette.
However, many churches are empty, numbers are declining since people began finding out that everything Europeans captors force-teach us about God, spirit, trinity, Jesus have been lies in order to keep your continent and your people to build theirs and their people. Seriously! A challenge to you is to research (yes you can) your own African Spiritual System that all these “religions” come from that the ‘powers that be’, your captors, have banned and made illegal in order to brainwash us to accept their version of Christianity. It Was dropped by India also captives who kept Hindu, China/Japan kept Buddhism, Arabs kept Islam, Europe Jews claimed Hebrew, but yours was banned and made illegal by the same European invaders/captors and here we are making little songs to their god of enslavement and poverty. Good try, anyway. It’s a challenge, I had to shed some light knowing you can do it.
Congratulations on your achievement!
God bless you.Keep on doing the good work.I have known Aunty Pearl for a very long time.Beautiful and wonderful person
