PM Skerrit discusses cooperation with vice president of Ghana

Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has held a discussion with the vice president of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on cooperation between Dominica and the African country. The two men met at the Jubilee House, the presidential palace that serves as a residence and office to the President of Ghana, in the country’s capital Accra on Wednesday afternoon.

They spoke on issues that would be of mutual benefit to both countries, according to reports coming out of Ghana.

Bawumia wrote of the meeting on his official page on X, formerly Twitter, where he misidentified Dominica as the Dominican Republic twice.

“This afternoon, I welcomed, to the Jubilee House, H. E. @SkerritR, Prime Minister of Dominica, who called on me, for a mutually-beneficial discussion between our two countries,” he wrote on Wednesday.

He said deliberation focused on many areas such as the importance of a renewable energy mix, as well as strengthening strong cultural, tourism, economic, and diplomatic ties between the two countries.

“To ensure effective exchanges in the areas identified, we also discussed the need to ensure affordable, reliable and accessible aviation network between Ghana and Dominica, and between other African countries, and the Caribbean,” the vice president wrote.

Ghana is located on the west coast of Africa and is said to be one of the most stable and democratic countries on that part of the continent. In 2023, its estimated population stood at 33,846,114.

Although English is the official language, there is a myriad of tribes in the country that have their own languages.

There has been no word yet from Skerrit’s office on his visit to Ghana.

Chilax folks!!! Ain’t nothing to see here but normal diplomatic bonding between sons of Africa who history and imperialism (slavery) conspired to separate.

Perhaps some would be more thrilled to see the PM rubbing elbows with Putin or the multi-indicted Agent Orange.

I know many here were looking forward to snapshots of the PM commensurating with President Akufo-Addo; however, let not your hearts be troubled as it is very common for a Ghanaian VP to rub elbows with a foreign head of state.

Do not be alarmed and distracted by the “nothing burgers” of life but do stay focused and highly concerned about the real and tangible issues that adversley affects your quality of life in this deception and mirage of a paradise.

Perhaps he spent all that travel money in order to get supplies for our run down hospitals and health centres. Maybe not, maybe be opened another person bank account and made a substantial cash deposit. We just don’t know. Nowadays we are not even told when this gangster leaves the island. He just takes the ‘Mickey’ out of all of us.

The President had no time for skerrit, so he passes him on to the VP. That ”speaks volume. The VP can’t tell the difference between Dominica and the Dominican republic. That is a pure diplomatic blunder., I guess they do not have proper protocol just like Dominica.

Why make silly assumptions with your imagination to satisfy your partisan
political beliefs. You do not have the facts or reason as to why The President of Ghana did not receive The PM. You must also not make comparison with your imagination about The PM to other Leaders.

When last did you see, President Biden hold a press conference after coming from an oversees trip with The press, and by the way if he does, he sends the Press Secretary, a spin doctor to answer questions from The Press. Press conferences are held every other week by the PM, depending on his schedule, no spin doctor to represent him, so long for your interpretation and assumption.

he who laughs last will laugh the best
you can’t defend Skerrit in court and you can’t comment on de trip in any positive way.
you can’t say what was done or said
You hate some of his actions and actors but you just prefer to roll in

    “a mutually beneficial discussion”
It was not described as an official state visit………he met with the Vice-President not the actual President…..interesting
And de Vice President made de announcement on his X account no real official announcement
I wonder who else accompanied Skerrit on that trip….no foreign minister…I didn’t hear of any official trip to the African Continent or Ghana.
There may be more to this story
    I don’t trust Skerrit
tax payers money that allow him to make that trip

Diplomatic relations with the West African nation of Ghana, which was the first sub-saharan country on the Continent to to become independent from colonial rule, is long overdue. let’s hope something concrete will come out of th PM’s timely interaction with the vice president.

“There has been no word yet from Skerrit’s office on his visit to Ghana.”

Per a well known expression, Rome’s emperor at the time, the greedy and ineffective Nero, fiddled and played music while Rome burned. But at least, Nero remained in Rome. One wonders if the PM was looking for a golden Accra in Ghana?

Oh boy the boss is desperate. Down to Ghana. My boy I presumed is at arms length with Karma. My boy you can just take the bullo B$4.6 and stash it between you and Karma. Too much paper to go through Karma can never touch you. You bypassed Brussels where they have confiscated your power and you watched down unto to The Hague where you will soon end up. Ghanaians have no idea of an existence of a Chichi anywhere around the world and mark you Ghanaians are very smart. After Ghana we’ll see you in Cameron and then Benin where you will take your bath and remain for 21 days. Please do not come back.
