The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is currently investigating the death of Joseph Registe, a male, 78-years-old of Grandbay, who resided at Layou Park. According to reports from Police Inspector Fixton Henderson, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at about 11 AM the St Joseph police received a report stating that Registe was missing and his clothing was found near the Layou River in an area known as “Glo Cho”.
A search was conducted by divers of the marine unit of the CDPF in the area that morning and the lifeless body of Registe was found submerged.
Registe was brought to shore where he was examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
His body is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy.
The CDPF expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
