Newly appointed Opposition Senator Danny Lugay is questioning the appointment of a political member of the Dominica Labour Party to coordinate a major agricultural event in Dominica.
General Secretary of the Dominica Labor Party Edward Registe was appointed the Coordinator of the 10th Caribbean Week of Agriculture in Dominica which concluded recently.
“Last week there was the Caribbean week of Agriculture and you could tell that farmers, by their very tone, had a lot of anger. The first slap in the face was having a known political operative of the DLP in the name of Edward Registe to coordinate the event,” he said.
He said trained technicians and several other capable persons in the sector were sidelined.
“The Director of Agriculture was sidelined, the Division of Agriculture was side lined and the trained technician was sidelined. Now wonder at the end of the Caribbean Week of Agriculture there were no meaningful objectives achieved,” he said.

well Dany is really on the upswing. So far he has doena much beter job than the person who nominated him to be Senator. let truth be told. Danny must realize that he is not on Lindo Park being himself and behaving like the baddest man as he is want to do when growing up. What was Mike Wallace’s qualification to be Dominica’s ambassador to the US when he was appointed? What qualifications did Angelo Allen have when he was appointed News Editor at DBS Radio over the other superlatively more qualified staff at DBS Radio? The list can go on and on Danny. When you point fingers at people be careful you have more coming back in your direction.

Mr. Registe is a well qualified Agriculturist, He worked in the Agriculture sector for 12 years, Mr. Registe, trained alot of people in the Agriculture Sector.
Mr. Registe hold a degree in Agriculture and Management.
He was the best person for the job, So next time you all want to put a comment outside find out first.
The Agricultural week was well exhibited, he did a very good job and the famers were indeed happy. I had the opportunity to attend some of the fuctions and they were well received by all who attend.

Ed Registe is an energetic, hard-working, dedicated individual with considerable organizational skills. His appointment to coordinate the Caribbean Week of Agriculture was certainly based on merit and the week was a tremendous success!
