Diaspora UN protest said to have ‘exceeded expectations’

A protest at the United Nations in New York organized by a group of Dominicans living in the United States, who say they are concerned about what is taking place on the island, has been described as successful and to have exceeded expectations.

The protest took place on Saturday morning and PRO for the group, Cherry Pacquette told DNO that all went well and eyes are now being set on Washington DC.

“We think it was a tremendous success,” Pacquette said. “We were so proud of all the Dominicans who came out…”

In reaction, Dominica’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Vince Henderson, described the protest as an “exercise in democracy.”

Organizers say the event was organized “to show solidarity with the people of Dominica” and to “bring awareness” of what has been taking place in Dominica lately, especially the protest action and the response of the police in the community of Salisbury recently.

Pacquette said a couple hundred Dominicans from as far Texas turned out for the event and many were prepared to express their views on issues which they say are affecting the island.

“There were a lot of people who were energetic, very passionate,” she stated.

She noted that although there are many issues facing Dominica, she hopes that actions like the ones taken in Salisbury by the police will not continue or group will take it further when the UN General Assembly meets in September.

“We will protest bigger and better if we have to,” Pacquette said.

MP for Salisbury, Hector John, who attended and addressed the event, described it as a “big day in the history of Dominica.”

“You decided to stand with your brothers and sisters in Salisbury and Dominica by extension,” he said.

He called on those in attendance to search themselves and ask what do they want for their homeland.

“Do you want to go back home to a land that is ruled by rogues and vagabonds?” he asked. “Do you want to go back a land where you cannot live in your home peacefully? Do you want to go back to a home that is poor and run down? Do you want to go back to a home that you will feel free and independent, a home that you will be proud of, a home called Dominica?”

John thanked the organizers of the event saying he wants them to advocate for peace.

He encouraged them to write to the UN, to the government and their MPs back in Dominica, “to encourage them to keep fighting for our country.”

Dominica’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Vince Henderson, appeared unfazed by the demonstration, saying such events  are what democracy is all about.

He stated that from photos he saw online, the event was “very ordered.”

“It is a contrast to what I saw as a similar expression in Salisbury which was very disordered,” he stated. “I think perhaps if this is the tone the same group wishes to set, I think this should be a good lesson to learn because as far as I am aware in a democratic society people are not allowed to block roadways and put other people’s life at risk in trying to make their point to the authorities.”

Henderson stressed that people have the right to express themselves in a democracy “as long as it is done within the confines of what is expected in an orderly democratic society.”

In terms of impact, Henderson said while he is not speaking for anyone else, he has walked the area where the demonstration was held many times and he has seen people standing up for or against a particular cause.

“I cannot say that they have caught my attention but I cannot speak for officials at the UN,” he said.

As a matter of fact, he stated, the area is customarily used by people to express  their dissatisfaction with their governments and multinational corporations.

“I must say that I have walked by that same area and I have seen several people making a point and to be quite honest, I don’t even remember what they were making a point about,” Henderson noted. “But as I said I cannot speak for other people.”

Meanwhile Pacquette said many Dominica-affiliated groups have joined the cause and one called, Democracy for Dominica Now, intends to hold a protest in Washington DC to engage the State Department and to create awareness in the capital of the United States.

Vince Henderson this is not true, that people are not allowed to block roads when protesting. One day u all will stop fooling people who do not know better. Shame on u. and why did dno have to ask vince any question about the protest. DNO did u all ask vince about he being labour campaign manager as a conflict of interest with his role at the UN, when this issue came up? And Protesting is Not Illegal. Dominicans read the constitution, do reseach. Find out for yourself. educate yourselves.

During the election campaign last Dec. Vince’s labour party blocked the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard for one week without regard for anyone. I guess that was legal Vince because it was for your party, who’s supremo believes the law only applies to others but not himself?

So Kid on the Block, you drove for 8 h (757.2 km) to reach NY or spent over $300.00 from Canada to NYC just to count how many people were there? Come on man, I was not there at the protest however, it is very hard for me to believe people like you account of what went on there.

I have been speculating for a while now, but this post just confirmed my suspicions. You (Kid on the Block/facts) are living in Dominica. You are a recipient of the Red Clinic. You are a paid contributor to DNO paid by the DLP. You cannot be so wishy washy. Flying with the wind. Alas poor pity!

        No agriculture
No Carnival Cruise Line the only cruise liner to bridge the gap between tourist seasons .
No proper medical care facilities any where on the island.
No infrastructure like parking lots , we need separate sporting facilities football , basketball , netball and an enclosed sports structure to facilitate indoor games .
No track and field for Olympics .
All they do is build rods and bridges and call it development .

God has re elected the Labour Party for a reason and it is being seen to see all those attempted strike and trying to put disorder in the country. PLease wait your turn, we have five years to wait and see what is God’s plan for the country.

You all are fighting God’s work.

All those on strike, when last did you come home, made contribution to the roads and help your country are you not ashame to be seen by your family in demonstration – that is how some of the family realise that some of you are in USA, shame, shame. If History repeat itself, only those in England come home to build and invest in Dominica. Those in America do not even come home to build when they visit they jealous of family who has made their selves in Dominica. What is been called for in Dominica is total lawless. There was a protracted demonstration on wall street that lasted for months no streets were blocked and whenever there was a violation of law protestors would be arrested. The UWP is giving the impression that freedom of expression, the right to protest and other basic human rights are been denied to Dominicans and unfortunately too many people buy into this non sense. Could anyone of the protestors or UWP official tell when was the last time a STATE OF EMERGENCY was called in Dominica. A STATE OF EMERGENCY is a tool used by ruling parties to protect their power by suppressing public expression and the free movement of people. History will show that the following leaders utilized this tool; E O Leblanc, Patrick John, Eugenia Charles and Edison James, Roosevelt Skeritt has never used this tool. In Dominica people are free to speak and express their oppossition to government without fear of been arrested and thrown in jail.

The comments by Hector John and the action by those in the US is so ridiculous!!! (copying and pasting)

Isn’t that what they came back to vote for? Your party was so against them coming to vote, but you want them to raise funds and to go to the UN for the same Dominica you don’t want them to vote in!!!! ITs only good when it suits you? Shame on you!! Your ridiculous hypocrisy is glaring!!!

DEB, you sure you understand what’s the issue at hand? Please people stick to the issue. Roads for the farmers in Salisbury!!! Dominica has had many protests and blocking of roads, just ask CHARLES SAVARIN – the one in the white house.
If Skerrit had gotten off his high horse and come to meet with the people, this would not have occurred. And yes, the people have the right to a meeting with their employee Skerrit. This guy is just out of order and his arrogance is just unbeliever. I can’t believe I taught this “Johnny come lately” of a Skerrit.
As his former teacher I am really so ashamed of him. Such a doggone disgrace to humanity. Skerrit, it is not too late to redeem yourself. Get off that high horse and acknowledge you faltered and fix the people’s roads.

Protecting their democracy. What exaggeration, making D/ca look like there is no democracy and Hector telling the world that D/ca is such a bad place to live. You are a joker. If you are referring to increased criminal elements in D/ca as drug trafficking, child sexual abuse, murders, thefts and vandalism, I would agree.
The problem with you, you people are too disobedient and disrespectful to authority. You want the country to be operated on your own terms, the way you want it. Hector and you others are the dictators. Learn obedience and respect for authority.
This is what the UN also needs to know about you. I do not think the UN and Washington would be impressed with your protest. Keep your protests in the US. Let it remain there.
I have relatives and friends who reside in the US. They have achieved much. Not every D/can in the US is interested in your protest. These would not even encourage it.

He is a servant of the people. He had to beg, I say beg, and pay some of the same diaspora to vote for him, remember, and now they too disrespectful?
You’ll be amazed who and what will be impressed and affected by this protest.

Three guesses – Tourism, Tourism, Tourism? Remember that?

Jesus was a man so are you a mako or Maria Magdalen? @Tjebe fort June 28, 2015

You know nothing about Love pertaining to Jesus, that is the reason you write that thing above. But be sure to remain in ignorance, but with humility–which you did not express here–for without the virtue of humility, you are a no, no to Jesus–the One whom you say is just a Man.

My point? Shut your mouth when you do not understand what you are hearing or reading– or ask a question!

    • June 28, 2015

Because of the ignorance of that (Tjebe) person above, I am sharing this.

My Dominicans, let it be known that if you are a sincere and faithful Christian, by your faith, you are having a Relationship with God through Jesus Christ–this Relationship should have nothing to do with Religion. I hope you that you know religion killed Jesus–but that was prophecy fulfilled.

This Relationship is based on Love–the very core of God Almighty, Eternal Spirit; who is Christ in the man Jesus–who called Him Father when He walked this Earth, as the Son. Any of you who read the Bible, both Old and New Testament, you should notice how often Love is mentioned–especially from Jesus, Himself.

The Bible tell us, “Love is Spirit”–not human affection, which here today; gone tomorrow. For “God is Love, and he who lives in Love lives in God, and God in him”–this is definitely, not about the lust of the flesh! To the individual Tjebe, you better be reading this, or else!

  19. The Real Facts
    June 28, 2015

Whatever they tried to do will not work. Keep wasting your time. The US Government has seen and heard enough about protests of all sorts.
Hector, I know many people in D/ca who are well off. They work for what they have acquired. They live a relatively happy, comfortable and peaceful life. None complain to me about the government.
They live a dignified life and have respect for and obey authority. They are not radicals. They know better to also mind their business that they will not get into trouble with no one. You will not find them protesting.
I do not encourage protests and will never be part and parcel of one especially the reason why the Salisbury people protested and disobeyed the police authorities by blocking traffic and pelting stones at them. This was a disobedient and rebellious group.
I find it disappointing that you protestors and supporters do not think that your actions and encouragement were uncalled for and out of place.

“Hector, I know many people in D/ca who are well off. They work for what they have acquired.”

Facts, what do you term well off? One time a man in Dominica told me he was not rich but he was warm, and well off, when I looked at that so called warm and well off man, he was so bloody poor, the man could scarcely put cloth on his back

He was dressed in some plastic shoe, like sandals!

The people who you see well off are people who maybe operating some legitimate business, buying merchandize and selling: apart from that the politician thieves; appear well off, the drug dealers, some of the civil servants who are thieves appears to be well off, however; if Dominica honesty prevailed in Dominica and some of those people were investigated all of them from Skerrit down would be living in jail! let the politician loose power then you’ll see how well off they are!

When the “Yankee Cops” say to unblock the road, just argue with them and say sir I’m in a free country it is my right to protest. I guess by then you will know what democracy is. But I know you know what democracy is. That is why you all were confined to a corner at the UN Building vicinity on a SATURDAY. Thats where they say you can protest. Thats where they all protest. Protesting anywhere else in that vicinity is a risk. How free is that? Well it is as free you can get in a Democratic state. Democracy is about order. I am not saying streets cannot or are never blocked in the US. But When it is, as in any democracy, the offenders are aware of the risk and are prepared to face the consequences. Thats democracy.

Countries Like France, England and US just to name a few, have their own issues to deal with such a terrorist attacks, hate crimes etc etc than to worry about a handful of Dominicans who disagree with the PM and his Ministers. Dominicans have voted and its is Hon. PM Skerrit who won the majority. Dont you think President Obama has his own issues? and so does all the other Heads of Governments. No one said that your Democratic Right cant be exercised, its a question of how it is done. The UWP was in power and as a young person who lived in Dominica at t he time, I really cant say what progress they made, cause I really didnt see any. I left Dominica for a few years and when I came back DLP was in power and I can say that I have seen a tremendous amount of progress in Dominica and still seeing and know that I will continue to see. I have only voted the DLP and will continue to do so as long as God gives me life and health.

1.. this is a protest, NOT what was done in Salisbury, it was a RIOT. Why didn’t they go with their placards to the Ministry/Financial Center and PROTEST PEACEFULLY?
2…Dominicans in the US going to the UN to protest, can someone tell me exactly what can the US Government do in a country where it has no jurisdiction?
3…Someone called for Dominicans in England, France and all over to stand in support and protest, but can someone tell me when was the last time these Dominicans came home or did something to contribute to the upliftment of Dominica?
4…Why does the PM and his Ministers have to succumb to the illegal actions by the people of Salisbury? Then in truth and fact what they are saying is that anyone who requires something done in Dominica all they need to do is riot and they will get their request.
Well, this is not the case. There is a proper way to do things. For their illegal actions of Salisbury people they should have been arrested longtime.

Lets be Reasonable – they have done all what you have suggested; the last time they drove their vehicles in a convoy to the Government Headquarters – their parliamentary representative has made numerous pleas on their behalf at the House of Assemble. Please be reminded the people did not just go into riot mood; the riot started when the police attacked the MP publicly and news cameras showed it live. The people stood from 530am to 330pm peacefully – all they were asking for was for the Minister or PM to come talk to them. It all turned ugly when the police became aggressive. May 11th to June 11th an entire month passed and instead of the authorities engaging the people in a civil way they sent police at the dawn of day to invade the village in military style raid which was unacceptable. So please we need to put the events in context and stop pretending that the Salisbury people are the ones totally at fault. There is cause and effect; action and reaction at play here.

The current political chaos in our Country is connected to the decay of the total disregard for facts and lack of honest dialogue. When I hear such political language from The member of Parliament Hon. Hector John saying things like quote “Do you want to go back home to a land that is ruled by rogues and vagabonds?” he asked. “Do you want to go back a land where you cannot live in your home peacefully? Do you want to go back to a home that is poor and run down? Do you want to go back to a home that you will feel free and independent, a home that you will be proud of, a home called Dominica?” This so disingenuous of him, it is designed to make lies sound truthful and them says he wants peace, such a dishonest dialogue.

America is not and never was a democracy. Democracy is mob rule or majority rule at the expense of the minority. I wish that people would get some history books that tell the truth. It was set up as a republic, but it only remained as a republic from the end of the Civil War until 1881, when the bankers entered the picture to finance the devastated US after the war. Then it started on its road to ‘corporatocracy.” That is what it is today….ruled by corporate interests. A corporate government.

Dominicans wanted independence from England and look what happened. the people have no protection from their own government who they keep re-electing. Dominicans should petition Britain to re-colonize Dominica Dominica was better off as a British colony and the Banana industry was booming.

    • Francisco Telemaque

Why don’t some of you educate yourselves in regards to how Dominica manage to become independent. Again say I Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque told you, that nobody in Dominica wonted independence from England, or Great Britain.

None of the Islands in the Caribbean, from Guyana on the American content in South America, to Jamaica in the North, got up one day and told the British they wanted their independence!

Say I say, the British, simply saw the nations of the Caribbean as a burden on their economy; hence, they the British decided, whether or not any island in the Caribbean except Montserrat, and Tortolla could sustain independence, they were cutting us loose!

It is not as Skerrit told you all that ” Rosie Douglas, and Pier Charles fought for a lot of things” meaning Independence. Patrick is still alive like him let him correct our history, and stop this nonsensical talk once and for all!

      • Francisco Telemaque
        June 28, 2015

Whereas, the British said we no longer want you as a colony, because you are burden to our economy, in the days when life was not so expensive to live, what make you think they will come to your rescue in the twenty-first century and re-colonize you?

The bottom line is nothing is wrong without independence, there are countries much smaller than ours, with a smaller population than that of ours.

Our backwardness, turns even visitors away from the country, the mentality of Skerrit is Dominica’s problem right now, and as that man remains Prime Minister of the county, do not anticipate any significant change in the economy. Skerrit is an idiot!

The man should be ashamed to allow Ralph Gonzalez to prevent him from building an International Airport, instead wasted more money on Melville Airport than it would take to build a new one, boy in an African Country, he would not last one day after his screw up. The rest of the Caribbean is laughing at Skerrit!

Take a look at the motor vehicles he and his clowns in government drives and compare them to the crap you drive, if you have a car! If you have any commonsense you will discover, that the only prosperous people in the country, the people in government; the economy of the country works only for them.

Each time idiots like you vote for Skerrit, you render yourself poorer than you were previously. You impose hunger, and suffering in the county, your personal hope of survival is to sell dope.

      • Francisco Telemaque

The British has done a lot for the colonies, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and to an extent Antigua, were practically fully developed during the colonial days. Antigua excelled after independence, that is why between fifteen and twenty-five thousand Dominicans are now residents of Antigua.

All of the former British colonies of the Caribbean are practically fully developed, Dominica remains stagnant, and has become worst under the rule of Skerrit!

Dominicans are their worst enemy! During the colonial days the British decided to build a Radio Station in Dominica to serve the rest of the Windward islands. The Labor Party was in power, lead by Edward Leblanc, the Labor said “we want it here, we cannot afford Radio Station until the year 2000, maybe. That is how yours truly got to first meet the late great Dr. Liverpool, he was the lawyer representing the WIOC in Dominica to the government, I the Wesley was employed in the Marketing Department of the WIOC, I would therefore commute between Dominica, and Antigua, picking all the documents signed by the government of Dominica, authorizing the WOC to operate in Dominica.

Nothing good will ever come to our country, unless we change our foolish mentality. Finally in the late 1930-early 1940’s during World War II, the United States, and the allies Britain decided to build an Airport, in Dominica, the same as they did on the island of Trinidad, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Guantanamo in Cuba.

It is amazing how DLP supporters evaluate the success of any demonstration by the people of Dominica against the Skeritt led administration. Whether one, ten, hundreds of people physically turn out really do not matter, as far as I am concern. The press coverage is what matters. For instance, the demonstration in New York, hundreds of thousands of people all over the world listened to Q95 and Dominican. net on Saturday. The demonstration was carried live by those mediums. In fact, the airwaves were saturated with many advertisements prior to the demonstration and the advertisements alone were sufficient to tell the story as to what is happening in Dominica. DNO which has a readership of thousands is showing pictures of demonstrators. Social media is also bombarded with hundreds of pictures and comments about the demonstration, therefore, the criticisms as to who was their or not, do not matter. Dominicans all over the world got the message loud and clear.

      June 28, 2015

Why are you portraying a perception of fantasy. I’m confused about your last sentence in your comment, wasn’t this demonstration meant to send a message to the Government, why are you saying quote “Dominicans all over the world got the message loud and clear.”
Stop being silly, the people who attended the rally in New York did not display an honest representation of Dominica and they did not represent the populace of Dominica.

      • Francisco Telemaque
        June 30, 2015

“Why are you portraying a perception of fantasy.”(Gary).

Perception entails: observation, or a mental image, or a concept; awareness of the elements of environment through physical sensation; or physical sensation interpreted in the light of experience.

Portraying, or portray simply means, to draw forth, or to reveal or exposed something or describe something in words!

Here is the clincher: Fantasy means many different things, but I will give you this; a creation of imaginative faculty whether expressed or merely conceived, something as a fanciful design or invention. And indeed the power or process of creating unrealistic, or improbable mental images in response to psychological need.

You can add “a mental image or a series of mental images as in day dreaming.”

This is just to show you how dunce, you are and full of it! Simple things means a lot.

Every time I see bloggers of no provenance coming out of the woodwork, belittling the opposition I know that that someone has been stung badly!
Mr. Henderson, you represent a small, very small country of some 70,000. Yet our vote in the U.N. is as valuable as the mighty U.S.A. that is your host. The U.SA. has a population of over 321 million, one Dominican for every 5,500 Americans. So mr. Henderson, even a mere dozen Dominicans protesting at the U.N. would be the equivalent of more than 66,000 U.S. residents! Just like you get noticed and respected in the U.N., representing our little speck of an island, believe me so did the Dominican delegation outside the U.N. make an impact and more. Time to stop being myopic, denigrating and give the people, all the people of that proud little nation you represent the respect they reserve, lest you insist on making yourself look silly and small.

    • June 30, 2015

Ok, I like where you are going with this. I like your analysis. So then, can we use the same principle and apply it to the scenario to calculate how many Diasporans came to D/ca to vote during the last election? For example, number of Diasporans per flight, numbers of flight, supported by the brisk business that would have been generated for the taxi services or the busy atmosphere around the airport by relatives picking up their loved ones. By now you get my drift.
We can also use this same principle and apply it to the “peaceful demonstration” by the lone constituency that voted for the UWP team, who blocked the main road; thereby hindering, preventing, taking people hostage, and damaging roads and personal property of others (a majority who voted for the Labour Party) in your quest to get the attention of the PM. So, are you willing to then use that scenario mentioned above to present the Salisbury anarchy in the same fashion, as you did in your arguement?

I am constantly surprised by the response of many of our those people who proceed very quickly to the personal attack mode instead of dealing with the issues confronting the Country ,,Besides who are these people ..Mine, Oh Cha, Wa Papa, ..If they feel so strongly why don’t they append their real names to their comments..

As long as: “de prime minister, or any of his corrupted circus member say good enough for we eh!”

I do not feel sorry, or have any empathy for any suffering soul in Dominica; because they brought that suffering on themselves by electing Skerrit over and over to do they same thing which is enrich himself, and his colleagues in government while the people suffers, yet they love him for his wicked deeds!

It is all well to congratulate the organizers and participants in exercising their democratic
rights and concerns for their Country. However their integrity and motivation is somewhat questionable, which you seem to ignore .The participants at the rally did not represent the populace view in Country. The rally was not an honest portrayal of Dominica. The participants were not in anyway protecting democracy in Dominica. Your so called factual concerns asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence, it is said that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

When you say quote “Besides who are these people” well these people are Dominicans like you, using this forum to express their opinions and they are just as concern about their Country as you do, regardless if they want to remain anonymous, it’s their right, are you suggesting their opinions are not worthy simply because it differs from yours You are just being bias and insensitive.

        What is Papa god?

In the first place when someone is referring to the Supreme Almighty God Jehovah God: the first letter “G” is mandatory capitalized.

When people are referring to lessor god’s as there are many including Skerrit, then; and only then, you write “god”.You would be better off referring to God, as Father God, or Almighty God

The less educated you all are it is easier for you stupid people to support Skerrit in his wrong!

In order to get rid of Skerrit, his cabalists, and his circus government; a general strike must be called, one as the same as Skerrit’s President Charles Savarin instigated more than thirty years ago toppling the Patrick John administration within forty days and forty nights of rioting

“In reaction, Dominica’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Vince Henderson, described the protest as an “exercise in democracy.”(Vince Henderson).

Is it not funny how the cabalist exposes their double standards? According Vince he described the protest in New York as an exercise of the democratic rights of Dominicans living in New York; however, to the cabaists it is illegal to express that same democratic right in Dominica!

The people of Salisbury simply stood and fought for their democratic, and human rights, rather than Skerrit and Austrie respect the rights of the people, they gave the shoot to kill orders to their military, who opened fire on helpless poor starving farmers, women, and children……………..The demonstration in New York, and the planned Washington DC, will not bring any change in…

    • Francisco Telemaque
      June 27, 2015

The demonstration in New York, and the planned Washington DC, will not bring any change in Dominica.

The United Nation has no power over what Skerrit is doing, assuming that Dominica was a country, that was industrialized, and had markets in the more developed countries in the world, maybe they could boycott Dominica’s products. Since we do not have a pot to urinate into and sell to other nations, nothing can be done. Assuming Dominica government had reserves of money in banks out here which could be frozen, until Skerrit quits he would behave his miserable self.

It is good to know that all of us Dominicans living in Dominica and the world over are not as dumb, as Skerrit believes: now he knows that a majority of us are dissatisfied with the way Skerrit has screwed up the island. Such demonstrations should be taking place in Dominica everyday until Skerrit and his bishop disappears into political oblivion.

In order to get rid of Skerrit, his cabalists, and his circus…

      • Titiwi
        June 28, 2015

I do not agree Francisco. Most people in the world, including the U.S.A. dont’t even know Dominica exists so it is far better to draw attention to our existence and our issues where they are bound to get more attention. In fact I suggest that if they held that demonstration on a busy weekday it would be better still. You are too pessimistic my friend, remember Goliath got felled by David with one little stone and a man like Roosevelt Skerrit is far more sensitive to criticism and bad publicity than most, exactly because he thinks more bout himself than others. Just undermine his ego and he will crumble.

Even a few people with a placard will do. The U.S. Embassy is almost next doors and the press will love it. It certainly will piss off Skerrit.

Where was the stone throwing? the bottle pelting? the road blocking? damage of NYPD vehicle? the attack on the Police officers? Shame! Since I saw none of that I must conclude this protest was not peaceful. Shirley( miss cristophine) one of the speakers should be the last person to call anyone vorler. She is a fugitive because of vorler. No wonder she can’t return to Dominica. The entire protesters were Uwpites. Majority on food stamp and living under section 8. The rest over staying and can’t go back home, but this is America haven for corruption. I heard Matt said there were about 200 persons in attendance. Matt can’t be serious. Did he do Maths at school? Did you see, any police with Shields, and mask on their faces with expired tear gas using on any Dominican demonstrating in front of the UN?

Did you see any New York police confronting, or harassing anybody in the crowed! Did you see a single police officer in uniform in the crowed, or did you detect any under cover police monitoring the crowed? That is the difference of what took place in Dominica, and what we saw in New York!

I have been speculating for a while now, but this post just confirmed my suspicions. You are living in Dominica. You are a recipient of the Red Clinic. You are a paid contributor to DNO paid by the DLP. You cannot be so wishy washy. Flying with the wind. Alas poor pity!

      • Francisco Telemaque
        June 30, 2015

I have a very curious mind, I wonder where in Canada the trip originated, if it’s in Toronto something is wrong: in the first place it is almost impossible to spend three ($300.00) in gasoline from Toronto to New York, I have traveled from Toronto to as far as Ohio, in 5.5 hours. Maximum six hours.

If we are talking about 757.2 Klm unless I am using the wrong conversion factor, and by the way I am doing it mentally, and error, that would be 757.2 Klm X 0.621 = 470. 2 miles, that should take less than eight hours driving and I do not see how that person could spend, $300.00 dollars in gasoline doing that.

I usually drive from Los Angeles, California, to Toronto, and back and spending less than one thousand dollars in gasoline. That is not counting the money I spend to get around in Canada, sometimes I rent a local car! However the return trip is more than four thousand miles, and if it cost me less than a thousand dollars buying gasoline, that person is not telling the truth!
