You all talking about what ”little” Skerrit do for the country since being
in power but are you all forgetting that the UWP was in power once upon
a time? What did they do? Oh yes, drown this country in dept that the same
Skerrit came and took us out of. When Mr James was in power people couldn’t
even go to see him. In my humble opinion i say yes to the little Skerrit doing
any day than the nothing UWP did when they were in power.

      @Rescue 911,
You need to be rescued because you cannot understand English. “Under the leadership of Roosevelt Skerrit…” Skerrit did not do it alone. It took ministers like Hon. Kelver Darroux and the others to get things done and hell yeah, the St. Joseph Constituency received assistance… housing, hard court, educational stuff, water project, roads built and renovated within the community itself among other things. **** you talking rescue.

I am predicting that as a result of the labour parties decline in support/membership since Mr Linton has joined the UWP will result in the Labour party being like the freedom party today in ten years DEAD!

Please Kelver, go back into your box. Stick at what you are good at and that is not politics. You are a political light weight and even don’t do your master’s bidding well. Keep your dignity Kelver and tell Skerrit to take a hike.

  12. December 2, 2014

mr. darroux it’s not for you to evaluate and asess yourself and your party . the people who are your employers are also your supervisors therefore it’s not your place to grade yourself and your party which you cannot do with impartiality. please answer this single question, why does your constituency have this high level of poverty?

    • The Facts
      December 3, 2014

You are not deceiving me with your question. Did D/ca not always have poverty? Every country has poverty. Dominica is not as bad as it were in those days. Why did thousands of D/cans migrate to Great Britain in those days? Why did some migrate to the US, Canada and elsewhere in the Caribbean and in other countries?
What is wrong with some people that they make such comments? Whose fault is it if people are poor? Some are poor because of their lifestyle, not completing school, not attending school, dropping out of school; some never attended school and for other reasons.
I have never seen/heard some people of a country blame the government for poverty and also lack of jobs as some Dominican nationals who are UWP supporters.
I have stated, do not blame the government. Prior to making such comments and being judgmental, conduct a survey and ask the people why they are poor.
People must utilize their common sense and good judgment if they have any. Their words also give them away as not thinking before they talk/type and comment, putting it mildly. They are too bent on criticism of the government which makes no sense whatsoever. They appear to comment merely for the sake of commenting.
Put yourself in the PM’s position. How would you fare out if you were the PM? You put the poverty of the people on his back. He is not to be blamed.
Face the fact, the truth and be fair. Many of them lived leisure lives, having babies upon babies and out of wedlock with different partners, some of whom could not afford to feed the children they fathered and mothered. From these poverty was established in the land by themselves and a pattern ensued from one generation to others. Many did not care to work and never sought work. This is something to contemplate on the next time you mention poverty.

I voted for you last election and if i do so once again i will be doing my Mero people unjust. not this time around. we the people of St.Joseph district is not about parting all our life. the monies your PM wasted in international artist can help even our beloved Mero playing ground. what a shame.

Give us a stadium that our young men cannot practice in on a daily basis? Roseau was once had a thriving sporting community, now we have nothing. UWP had plans to create a multi-sporting facility not a cricket stadium that only houses football when it is a big game. Under the DLP young men of Roseau and environs have nowhere to practice! We are not welcomed in the stadium and we were forced out of the Botanical Gardens all we have are the empty roads on a Sunday. But a young man like Kelvar who is a basketball enthusiast is saying that the DLP has delivered? Shame on you Kelvar!

Kelver did you mean the foreign aid and material assistance that the Chinese, Venezuelan and shamefully the Moroccans have delivered to Dominica that Skerrit takes all the credit for?

  21. December 2, 2014

Oh please Kelvar, who put you up to this??? It is a BLATANT lie!!!! All across Dominica playing fields are overgrown, under-maintained, and in some cases, abandoned. The same goes for hard courts!!! How dare you insult the youth of our Country like this. The youths do not even have access to the Windsor Park Stadium at their pleasure. You liars need to stop talking my brother, seriously. Kelvar, your handlers set you up to say this one because they see that you won’t be winning your seat on the 8th. You should have told them “No I am not saying this, it’s going to be my political death for sure”!!!!

If Labor party STEALS this election, I am calling on the Dominican people to protest ! Take to the streets like 1979. The rule of the ppl- we will not sit and watch Dominica fall into a dictatorship regime. i will be there to spark the revolution against the monster of a man. I want Dominica in the next few days to look the you tube video of young skeritt being interviewed by Lennox Linton in 2000 and then look at the man Skeritt is today – he is the horned beast fat and full of greed. Dominicans get ready to take to the streets to fight for your rights

    Dear Kelver Darroux,

You failed your constituents miserably Sir. The tide has turned against you and your leader so badly, that you stand no chance for a comeback.

You see Kelver, had you stood up to Roosevelt and let him know that your constituents are bigger than he, Skerrit, and that you deserve more than lip-service for Saint Jo, Things would be different. You failed to tell him for the record, that you disagree with the disrespectfulness and insults he exhibits towards women. You would look like a real man with testicular fortitude if you did, but you failed.

Now you have become part and parcel of a very corrupted government with too many allegations over their heads. You will not be excluded in the legacy of Roosevelt Skerrit’s tenure in office. You are unable to lead in any capacity, you are a follower, and allowed Skerrit to trample on your domain, short-changed the constituents of Saint Jo. Sorry! Time for Change.

Kelva you were specific about the Windsor Park spors stadium which we got over 2 elections ago so that one is clear. But about the others were you referring to the playing field on bath road that your people dug up so that the RIC could not have their league that has not been touched since your backhoe came in? or you referring to the playing field in Kingshill that they have been working on for donkey years? Or could you possibly be referring to those that Ron Green said were no longer useable in the Laplaine area? Or maybe just maybe you referring to the non existent ones in Bellevue and Pichelin and Bagatelle that I heard Urban just speaking about?
Please be specific so we can give credit where credit is due.

    December 2, 2014

You all have been there 14 YEARS so all you make sure to do the LEAST you could do. If we compare what was done in 4 1/2 years and compare that to the 14 you all have been there that’s a clear example of your incompetence and inability to move Dominica forward… “in a positive direction”. The FORWARD you guys campaigning on is definitely in the NEGATIVE direction.

Time for you all to take a rest and RETHINK how to govern. First thing would be to GET RID OF SKERRIT AS LEADER then Rebuild the party.

In the mean time Dominica will be changing and becoming the best place to work live and enjoy life! 6 more days to go… enjoy them while they last.

Kelva speakes like this Party was never in Government over the last 15 years with regards to the sporting facilities when he said “And this is the work of a Dominica Labour Party government because we understand, my dear friends, that you the young people of Dominica, you the youth of this country, you need to exert your energies in a positive way,”

Speaking about the stadium and some of the other infrastructural development that happened where less than 7% or none of our citizens were employed as if they did so much for us.

I am not also saying they are not important in our development but after all you and your Government have cultivated a mendicant society in a deliberate attempt to have a bunch of people at you feet. No jobs, No Manufacturing as our Imports are much higher than our exports, Where are the investments that will aid in the growth of our economy bro? Don’t you realize that you need to build your people first and foremost whilst the roads and other things must come in.

You guys are so clueless about economic development of a country that you claim to love, you do all sorts of things and at elections you go out to steal votes..

What a shame.. It’s time for Change
