Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said his government will not sit idly by and allow members of the United Workers Party (UWP) to invade the country’s security.
Skerrit was speaking on the heels of an alleged spy agency operating on the sixth Floor of the Financial Centre.
He said while the UWP is making “baseless” accusations they are in possession of confidential documents belonging to his office.
The Prime Minister said he is also concerned about documents from the government treasury that should not be part of the public domain.
He said government will continue to take actions to preserve Dominica’s security.
“They have documents that are supposed to be only in the office of the Prime Minister, only in the office of a minister, they have documents coming from the treasury. There are people in the treasury who take documents and give it to them and nobody is asking where they got the documents or how are you able to have these documents,” he said.
According to Skerrit, “for them that’s fine but if government has information or access to information that compromises them, and then they have a difficulty with it. Government is just supposed to stay there and roll with the punches and never respond. The moment we respond they have an issue with it.”
