Prevost contradicts government’s claim on housing development for Roseau

Prevost

Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Norris Prevost has contradicted government’s claims that housing development in Roseau is part a $27-million loan from China.

Government has calmed that the Chinese loan will cover the much talked about state house project, rehabilitation of the Dominica State College and improvements to housing in the city but Prevost argues an additional $100 million is what will cover the housing advancements.

“We have seen documentation, we know government has borrowed $100-million from China and that the $27-million out of that $100-million is being wasted on the state house,” he said.

He described housing development project for Roseau as “unplanned” and said it will lead to destruction of the city’s culture.

Prevost has spoken of the need for space in the town and has noted the need for greater recreation areas.

The fountain was not a waste of money every where else has fountains why dominicans can’t appreciate
nice things. And when we travel elsewhere we appreciate it. In dominica parros and dominicans throwing trash into the fountains not even flowers could be grown.

I think dominicans need some kind of training, how to appreciate things. Where are the trash cans that were set up in Roseau. Well guess what they were destroy. Even the palm trees on the high way people try to destroy. They do not know how to appreciate beauty.

All over america has plants and trees on the streets and parks and even fountains who do you see pissing and bathing in the fountains?? Again, where is the law???? The children love looking at the water fountains elsewhere and throwing their money in there.

Mr Prevost is on the side of the people of Roseau. He always wants the best for them. There is more than the eyes can see on that President house, it might be part of the agreement sign with the Chinese.” Look out we may have a Chinese President in the Chinese house.”

DNO why this whole thing about posting comments too quickly? I read an article that you posted, which I think is complete before you post it. Why after I take my time and write a comment you just throw it down the drain? I appreciate you news medium, but I am unclear as to why you do that. When do I know that I am posting too quickly so that I don’t waste my time?

Admin: the message about posting comments too quickly is no fault of DNO but of our hosting site. We have made numerous reports on this and was told it is being worked on. Thanks for reporting, we can now get back to the proper authorities and tell them the problem is ongoing.

The funds for the construction of the State House, Convention Centre, offices for the various public commissions, the State College, road rehabilitation and housing in Roseau come from a US$40 million from China.

Yes, it was a waste, an embarrassment and the U.W.P. got punished for it. However, this is no justification for any other regime to do the same, if not worse!

of course the fountain was a waste … it lacked creativity to the max

but does this justify was is going on now? where are our priorities
citizens must remember that when government spends money on crap, we all pay for it through more taxes

can you imagine me spending all my salary on nonsense and then cannot pay my bills so i coming to you for help??

its high time we forget party politics and think like people with sense and demand that our government put its house in order

if we really love the pm we could be bold enough to tell him plain is nonsense he doing ….or else its no different from our children robbing and stealing and we will not correct them
