The final results of the Roseau City Council elections have shown slight changes from the preliminaries which were released earlier on Tuesday.
The biggest change was in Ward Two with Vanessa Prevost moving to second place from third place.
Preliminary results had shown Veronica Juliana Frederick at number one with 305 votes but in the final count there was a decrease in seven votes putting her at third place behind Rhea Brumant, 303, and Prevost, 299.
This means that Prevost is now an elected member of the council.
In Ward Three, three persons were nominated but one pulled out, hence the other two, Daniel Lugay and Irene John, were duly elected and no poll was held.

Based on the final results the following are elected members of the council: Kimara Hurtault, Vanessa Prevost, Albert Dalrymple, Corinthia Blanc, Reah Brumant, Regina Walsh, Daniel Lugay and Irene John (from Ward Three).

I fed up with allu politics stupines. this is getting ridiculous. I use to speak on the behalf of a particular party but when I look at it, I see that I am joining forces with some of my fellow Dominicans “against” other fellow Dominicans. This is stupid and ridiculous because we are ALL suppose to be for the development of our country NOT no party. Look now I understanding city council have politics in it too? Magway sah! Awa wii. the government of dominica is NOT a party nor if the opposition if they come into power will be. the government of dominica is a group of individuals placed there to govern the operations of the country. But we decide to segregate each other in a foolish battle for which party better? I have always as a child wondered why all the “real-necessary” people are not forming the government. meaning, if one party has some brilliant ideas, and another does too and the whole country agrees they will take ideas from one and put with the other and work with all the ideas to help build a better country. NO, it seems like it is one party’s way of the high way. Make it worst, no matter what party is in power, they always give their “unqualified” position. And I speaking generally because even in corporate businesses, they would rather hire their neighbor than someone who is highly qualified and better able to do the job. I mean yes, is a pull string and who know who kind of vibes but what about competency and quality of work. And when I say qualified, don’t think I talking about having a degree or experience unno, I mean actually being able to do the work! Having a degree doesn’t mean you better than someone who has been doing something for years and even if you have been doing something for years, have you been doing it right? Stupes, I fed up, seriously, and it is like this all over the world. And make it worst, who ever is in power is because of some kabbal? seriously? the kabbal doesn’t even care about it own, it cares about the agenda that is put in place long before they were born and will be there long after they die. But then again it will do back to materialistic, vanity ways. That is what man-kind has fallen to. An everlasting suffering to “shine” in a world that we just passing through. Do what allu have to do genuinely for the betterment of the city, that is the only advice I have for allu. DO NOT come with personal agendas or follow through with plots form the “big-boys” just to have an edge on the city. All of you are dispensable and I mean dispensable in a way that God can and will deal with allu. keep a clean heart and mind and do what ya’ll suppose to do. Don’t let money fool you and don’t let the system get to you. congratulations and good luck, I looking forward to seeing an improvement or else…

It is rather unfortunate that almost everything in our beautiful country has become political what a shame council elections that use to be free and fare people vote for who they want now i see people carrying people and telling them who to vote for i witness labourites doing it i dont know for the other party but am saying what i see.
At the last general elections, in Roseau central, so many people from overseas, namely the region and the USA voted for labour. likewise, Haitians and Chinese voted for labour yet UWP still won. This time around, the margin of defeat will be much greater because Labour does not have the financial resources to solicit voters from the diaspora. However, I think Skerit trying a last minute move to procure funds from China for the aforementioned purpose.

Good luck to all who won, and those who came forward to serve; you are all winners. Seems like a good mix but results will determined where you all end up from here. Lot of work to do and we are all suppose to pitch in for Dominica belongs to us.

But is a nice vibes. what we need is more unity and put partisanship on a side, one for each and each for all, I for you and you for me. That is why Mrs Walsh went up as Community. Too often, people want to go up as colour, and not community. Regina Walsh, you are the greatest. And you looking good for your age. Young people of Stock farm, check that lady for comfort and counseling. This is a woman that can get her Meritorious Medal for community Empowerment.
Word!!!!! Regina Walsh is a very committed community person and looking real good for her age. She has alot to contribute although she is a retiree… The young people of stockfarm regardless of Political affiliations work with her… One day i will see her get her meritorious award!!!!! God is her guide!!

Wat happen! Regina Walsh must be a Power House at City Council Elections. The odds were against her. I think she has been dere from since 96. It doesn’t seem she want Mayor man! If I know that lady, she is Community, and another fing, Community has no Colour, and I hear she say, is her Community Centre she going for in Stockfarm. Congrats, Regina. Evrybody bumping their gums, and yours in your mouth.. and dere tong much too long, and they should take a vacation.
