Opposition Leader Hector John says National Security Minister Charles Savarin should be making calls for Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit to step down.
Former Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Sir Brian Allen has been forced to resign from Dominica’s Integrity Commission after Savarin questioned his impartiality.
Savarin called for Sir Brian’s resignation alleging that the former judge made several public comments in which he claimed Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and members of the Dominica cabinet may be dishonest.
But John said Savarin’s call is making an indirect plea for PM Skerrit to step aside.
“Charles Savarin is using Brian Allene to ask Skerrit to resign because he violated the Constitution of Dominica when he got nominated to represent the people of Ville Case in 2009 and he knew that he was carrying dual citizenship,” he added.
Dominica’s integrity commission was set up to look into allegations of misconduct by government ministers, MPs and other key public officials.
Minister Savarin also questioned whether Alleyne was suitable to sit on the commission after he revealed that he held dual nationality.
Sir Brian has rejected allegations of misconduct.
Mr. Hector Dominican elected Mr. Skerrit to be their leader, whether you like it or not that’s what Dominican Want. So take my word if the kitchen is to hot get out before you burn the food. Do you think that Dominican was not aware of Mr. Skerrit had dual citizenship? Prime Minister Seaga of Jaminica was not a citizen of Jamacia by birth, and yet he became the Prime Minister and served the Jamacia people for a number of years. Therefore I encourage you to back off the Prime Minister afairs and find a way for you to get dual citizenship yourself and see how sweet it is. Seen that Dominica is much more better now, I think you and others that want the Prime Minister to resgined should find a common ground and work together with the Prime Minister to continue making Dominica a place to live and a safe environment for others. People like Mr. Hector and others that are fighting against the Prime Minster are nothing more than hunger for political gane, they are closed minded individual (s) with no clear vision for Dominica. They run their mouth without any implication of thir own words, if I was the prime Minister I would put them under house arrest until Dominica is well delvoped for the Dominican people. Maybe life is too sweet for them outside.
Mr. Priminster I heard about the health care reform that you implemented to help the elderly that is
good, because too many sick people was unable to pay to see a doctor. You did a good thing to help the needed in Dominica. So let them fight while the poor is praying for, continue with good work you are doing. However, I wish you could get yourself a good DA that can represent the government of Dominica. Good Luck.

Let’s suppose tomorrow labour party and skerrit would be out of office; what the hell Hector and the rest have to offer? They yet to say what they can do for the country, what plans they have. All we hear about is rsign, voter id cards and the same thing over and over they braying at their foolish people parliament. Wonder if they havign Minutes of their meetings. That parliament not recognised by law; foolishness. Man, that bobo allu get there on Dec 18, 2009 doesn’t cure at all. haha.
I’m a strong labourite, no dount about that and there are certain things that i do not agree with the labour govt. But they are doing a damn good job and workers have nothing better to offer. Get real workers and be a better opposition. Come up with good strategies because we do need oppostion.

UWP, DLP and DFP are just stupid. There is a constitution and the constitution is LAW! Let nature take its course and allow whoever minister to break and bend the law.. When time is right and the tide changes thorough and fair investigations should be carried out to expose those who were corrupt, accepted bribes etc. Like the former Israeli PM… Everything has a time.Obviously its DLP time and nothing is unfair unless they say it is… because it is their time. Resign, Resign, Resign. Recently, the call was for Skerrit to ask Savarin to resign over the Brisbane foolishness now Savarin must ask Skeritt to resign over Brian Alleyne’s demise. Resign is the one word Hector knows, Resign is Hector’s only political strategy, Resign is Hector’s same old rhetoric. quite frankly i am fed up with Hector and i now despise the word ‘Resign’. Hector offers no more to this country. I am by no means in favor of suppressing the voice of the opposition but when opposition becomes as in-effective and as a nuisance to the politics of a country as the UWP and in particular Hector John has become, when the opposition lacks creativity and substance and is no more than a blunt instrument, a hindrance to development, such an annoyance as the UWP has become, the opposition must become voluntarily silent, re-group and like rasta say “will and come again”.
A Leader of the Opposition in our parliamentary democracy is really a defacto Prime Minister. He should be ready to respond positively to a call to form a government whenever that opportunity presents itself. So while the practivality of that reality in present day Dominica will remain a mirage for Spaggs, the technicality of such remains constitutionally sound.
Can Spaggs John, Dominica’s Leader of the Opposition, given his inherent weaknesses politically, either by adoption, good or bad luck or purely strategic, can Spaggs John respond to that call? Given the ever, never ending presence of the member for Marigot in the top leadership of his party (some say he is the owner of the UWP) , can Spaggs be ever independeint? If I had a choice between Mr. Hector “Spaggs” John and Mr. Roosevelt Skerrit, for Prime Minister of Dominica, the choice is clear.
I believe we need other talented and capable leaders from among the vast number of Dominicans, both resident and ooverseas to make themselves available to participate in the process. Unfortunately, because Prime Minister Skerrit is the subject of a court case having to do with holders of dual citizenship, there is a clever staregy to avoid fully debating the pros and cons of the issue purely on the alter of partisan politics. But the issue will not go away. Which ever way the court case ends, there is need to discuss and debate the issue in as broad a manner as possible.
In such a situation, Spaggs John, my friend have very limited if any politcal currency national except of course within the very tight confines of Salisbury and in some very limited way Coulibistrie. Notice Morne Ratchette is not included.

Mr John, the people of Salisbury voted for you, please represent them. Gather your facts together and debate them ethically in the Parliament. Perhaps if you can prove and discuss well, you may gain supporters Mr John. Boycotting the Parliament meetings really make no sense. If you feel that this government is illegal then discuss the issue in a forum. If you have evidence that the DLP is a corrupted administration, then prove it logically and scientifically. In addition Mr John, could you kindly present to the people of Dominica what can the UWP do for the people of Dominica. Dominicans want to know this, a country needs an effective opposition to keep the current administration in check. It is time Spraggs to build the UWP constructively.
Politics is a beautiful social science. Politics impacts our very lives as we have placed a trustee to govern our affairs, thus, it is very important the people of Dominica approach politics with decorum, logic and spiritual insight.
Spraggs should really go to the house. To gain support. If you see him ask him to go to the next house meeting.

It really, really, scares me, regarding the future of Dominica, that the opposition is such a small group of men, who refuse to understand that Dominicans need to hear their objectives for the development of Dominica, and the welfare of her people.
