A screen shot of the last poll

Majority of Dominicans are feeling the effects of the global recession, according to a weekly poll by Dominica News Online.

Two hundred and sixty-eight (59%) of the 457 votes showed that persons responded “yes” to the  question: “Are you feeling the effects of the global recession in Dominica?”

One hundred and seven votes (23%) reflected a “No” response; 56 votes (12%) accounted for the “Not sure” answer and 26 votes (6%) for “Not anymore”

DNO has set up another weekly poll located to the right of the screen, about the level of  customer service provided here.

I guess if you are very poor, it really does not matter because your primary concern is about how to eat the next meal. If you have a lot of discretionary income to spend on non-essential items, then you are more prone to worry about maintaining your lifestyle. So the numbers don’t surprise me for a country as poor as Dominica.

Piper how do you measure poverty? Is it by the lack of resources or is it simply what you see on tv? Lets be real some of you overseas Dominicans are poorer than many people at home. Poor people don’t dress like dominicans . I suggest you take a good look around you. Keep an open mind
