Price of electricity with geothermal: expected medium term price drop but short term fluctuation

Sam Raphael

DOMLEC board member Samuel Raphael explained in a press conference today that prices are set to decrease for all consumers due to the introduction of Geothermal power but in the immediate term is likely to fluctuate due to the global situation with oil prices.

While an exact time line for the price change was not given Raphael explained that the specific reduction will differ depending on consumption.

Smaller consumers can expect up  to 17% reduction in their electricity costs while, small business owners may see a 12% reduction while larger businesses would see a 10% reduction.

He gave a specific example that if you pay $100  a month as a small consumer you will see a savings of $17 dollars paying $83 dollars.

However, due to the rising trend in oil prices due to America’s war with Iran and resulting fall-out the prices are likely to fluctuate in the short to midterm but as prices are expected to stabilize overtime then the reduction from the introduction of Geothermal power is likely to drive prices down.

The geothermal plant has been operating fOR about 1 month now and provides 10MW of energy to the supply grid.

Raphael particularly noted that he was excited ,both as a business owner and as someone in the eco-tourism industry, in the improvement in green energy production to the tune of 75% of total supply when combined with the hydro-powerplant production

This still means that currently 25% of supply comes from reliance on diesel which leaves the market vulnerable to global fossil fuel prices.

Well well well! Mr. Raphael if geothermal and hydro is now going to provide 75% I take that to mean we are going to use way less diesel than we have used historically. So although global oil prices are affected by war what i would expect you guys to say is the price will remain cheaper because of the dramatic drop in fuel consumption. you guys have sold to the Dominican people that electricity price will be lower but I am already starting to hear the excuses from you why this will mot be the case. what percentage of the power supply was diesel generation before geothermal? If you are now saying it is only 25% then what was it before? what contingency you have in place when the efficiency of the geothermal plant has dropped due to enthalpy and calcification and capacity is limited as a result of repairs and maintenance of equipment?

This guy (Raphael) is a songbird for Roosevelt and his regime. He paints a rosy picture of everything government related.

As if it were the chorus of a song, the enablers of the Roosevelt led oligarchy, repeated that with the turning on of the geothermal switch, the electricity bills will be appreciatively lower. Now we know their talk is diametrically opposite to the truth. This incumbent regime and its supporters suffer from a terminal Lying disease.

Roosevelt and his puppetry board members never give specificity – no specific timing, no specific costing, no specific anything. What the people get is often vague, flattering promises which hardly come to fruition.

They have perfected their bogus commitments, and the local news media swallow them line, hook and sinker. No follow-up by the news outlets is done. So the citizens are shortchanged and deceived deliberately or inadvertently by news outlets.

Examine your electricity bills of today and months and years to come. There will be no from.XL electricity bills. The struggle to put a decent plate of food on the family table continues into perpetuity. All.this, while Roosevelt and family relax in the state’s $64k .taxpayers rented palace enjoying steak, lobster and Xavier with other delicacies for lunch, unconcerned about the plight of the many unemp!oyed citizens.

      Ego,

You are a know it all jack@ss. You deliberately and consistently attempt to fool people with your low effort and hypocritical thinking. Did you watch the press conference or been following these events? These are the facts and you

Specifics were given and you ignore that for your biased egotistical and hate-filled agenda. To make such a specific claim makes it much easier to call them out if it doesn’t happen. Intelligent people don’t give specifics so publicly unless they know they can be delivered, unless you think Raphael is as big a jack@ss as you are…time will tell though.

I hope the news media follows up and I hope you admit if you are wrong but your own selfishness and dishonesty makes you even less trustworthy, all you can do is smear others with your own failings.
