Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit leads delegation to agri-investment forum in Guyana

Prime Minister, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit leaves the island today, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 to attend the Agri-Investment Forum & Expo in Guyana, hosted by the Government of Guyana and the CARICOM Secretariat. The forum runs from May 19-21 at the Arthur Chung Convention Center in Georgetown, Guyana, under the theme “Investing in Vision 25 by 2025.”

The event is a follow-up to discussions at the 33rd Inter-sessional Conference of Heads of Government held in Belize in March, which focused on efforts to reduce the region’s food import bill and attract investment to the agriculture sector.
Heads of government and members of delegations will address issues linked to investment in agriculture and food production, including cross-border investment, climate-smart agriculture and related infrastructural development.

Hon. Ian Douglas, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business and Export Development; Hon. Fidel Grant, Minister of Blue and Green Economy,

Agriculture and National Food Security; and Mr. Hillary Shillingford of Salisbury and Mr. Deles Warrington of Calibishie, commercial farmers, will accompany the Prime Minister to the meeting.

If one listened to the introduction of the delegates of the prime ministers of government attending the symposium in Guyana one may have noticed that only one of the Prime Ministers were recognized as “doctor” as one who attained a Ph. D from a recognized university; after studying an academic discipline; and that Minister was Crowley from the nation of Trinidad & Tobago!

Not surprised that the Dominica triple doctor was only recognized as “Roosevelt Skerrit!”

Bought pieces of papers by a Dominican only has value to the buyer, in Dominica, and to people such as: Man Dog, that rat, and the rest of the little rats Lin Clown, and the rat ds!

Laughable. Right before Maria we had a vibrant coconut oil industry. Maria pass and all trees lost their coconuts.. a lot of trees also fell. Today we still have to import coconut oil. Right after Maria the PM decided to just hand out money. Same for after Erica. There was no plan to focus on cash crops or to even revolutionize the agro processing industry which directly depends on the agricultural sector for raw materials. To this day, nothing. I dont see grapefruits or oranges like i used to. Pepper sause producers have to import pepper mash through DEXIA because we dont have much hot peppers. This is all just a bloody joke.

My guess, it’s time to tell the rest of CARICOM that Skerrit built two “Feeder Roads” after twenty years in office. With Ian in town, we know that “Hig Wine” will be difficult to find. Hopefully, everyone stock up in advance of his arrival.

I believe if a PM after 20yrs in power is ONLY now focusing on the ONE thing that can sustain his economy which is agriculture , he needs to fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

It means the amount of financial resources from agriculture, he caused his country to loose over the past 20yrs has to be in the BILLIONS…….That is why the livelihood of Dominicans(my people) are extremely hard….They are Poor and Sufferings!!!!!

And lots of other reasons for him to fired immediately, amongst others wrong accounting of state funds, conducting unfair elections and lying to the citizens of Dominica.

Way to go big man; but don’t you thing it might be a little too late? both you and your bunch of useless CARICOM leaders who wear wooden glasses finally begin to see the light; the world needs to be fed and seeing that most of our economies are agricultural based you all played “saul”; but remember PM Ralph Gonsalves warned you. I guess greedy people never learn. And by the way I plan to loge a complaint against the rest of the Caribbean/World, who continually insult my PM when referring to him at regional and international forums for refusing to call him Dr, Dr the Right Hon Roosevelt Skerrit

“PM when referring to him at regional and international forums for refusing to call him Dr, Dr the Right Hon Roosevelt Skerrit   ”

Who in their right mind who knows what it takes, educationally to earn a Ph. D in any field of academics would insult themselves by referring to Roosevelt Skerrit as “doctor?”

Roosevelt cannot even refer to himself, or introduce himself as doctor to anyone; and that is the tragigy of bought honorary no value degrees!

He thought he would be called doctor Skerrit wherever he goes; he must have felt very small and dumb when he heard that they gave honor to Crowley of Trinidad, whom I’m sure obtained his Ph.D via academia rather than buying such scraps of paper from none credited schools such as the university of Punjab!

His wife and children, and some ignorant Dominican can call him doctor if the wish, the rest of the Caribbean laugh and make jokes out of him!

Corrupted money does not make one intelligent educationally.

I have said this previously and will repeat it. Roosevelt is no different from a tourist in his own homeland. He spends a few days in his 5-star hotel at Morne Daniel before flying to some distant country around the globe.

Meanwhile, the economy is in a perpetual tailspin, people are jobless and hungry, poverty is widespread, police harassment and brutality has become the norm rather than the exception, and Roosevelt and his gang bangers party on.

Paradoxically, the people of Dominica are responsible for their own suffering. They have basically given consent to this one demonically possessed despot to destroy them.

You done eat it, then you sh…T it; and now you are looking for it? You need the power of resurrection to bring back agriculture to Dominica. You keep doing what you started doing from the beginning; which is: wasting time and money.

There aren’t proper roads to people’s Houses in many places in Dominica; far less for roads to agricultural land. Politics is a very dirty institution if not the worst thing that has ever happened to the human race. It all started with King Saul of the Bible. His reign was a failure and disastrous, to the point where he went to a witch doctor; tried to kill David. So you see? Politics is tied to witchcraft and murder. Read your Bible and see for yourself. Jesus only is the hope of all who place their trust in Him. UP WITH JESUS; DOWN WITH MR. bla bla bla Dr. Dr. Punjab.

Let us hope this gives a serious push to agriculture in Dominica .. On the return of the delegates there should be a review and planning session to get things started right away. As we know one of the difficulties is to get things properly implemented

The Frequent Flyer, Roosevelt, is expending huge sums of money from government treasury on overseas trips. He is undoubtedly the most frequent traveled head of government in the Western Hemisphere. None of his contemporaries even come close.

In recent times, a colossal entourage was taken to the UAE, one most recently to Cuba, now another to Guyana. The question is – Does the country really benefit, in return, for these very costly adventures? The resounding answer is NO.

The Summit of the Americas is imminent. It will be held in California this time around. Will Roosevelt dare to attend as much as he likes to joy ride?

Dominica should be feeding the rest of the Caribbean with food exports, instead we are busy importing everything that we should be growing and exporting! Barbados and Trinidad are about to lease hectares of land in Guyana to expand their own Agricultural production for exports – I guess we will be signing deals to import from them to supply our expanding empty hotels and tourism industry. Prime Minister, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit and his Labour Party government killed Agriculture in Dominica! Our best Agricultural scientists had to leave Dominica to find work in the rest of the Caribbean. Please tell me what is the PM purpose at this meeting? What will he be doing or what does he hope to achieve for Dominica at this meeting? No one is buying or selling passports over there! Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad, they do not sell passports! Only the poor lazy one with no idea how to develop their countries are busy selling their birthright and birthland!

There we go, the person that single handed destroyed agriculture in Dominica, now leads a delegation to an ‘agri-forum’ in Guyana. Pathetic! He doesn’t know a thing about agriculture. It’s just another jolly for the CM at the country’s expense!

Some people in leadership in the Caribbean just like to hear themselves talk. They love to repeat fancy terms and words because it makes them “sound” bright and intellectual but in the end of it, little is achieved. In July 2016, President Charles Saverin addressed parliament and mentioned the concept of “climate-smart agriculture” yet 5 years later what has been achieved about this concept by the UN? For this conference to be meaningful why aren’t the technocrats in the ministry of agriculture an integral part of the delegation? These technocrats are the ones who will inform the minister of agriculture and help put the pieces together for anything meaningful to come out of this effort or it might just become another talking shop with poorly perceived and implemented ideas. Our cart is ahead of the horse with this delegation.

Are you going to be disgruntled until your time is up? Pass we passing. Why not indulge yourself in something that will bring edification and enlightenment to others. Educate etc., Always complain, complain, complain.

Contribute some positiveness and let someone smile and not be permanently sully like you are . Bitterness is not good for anyone.

@Message to Jonathan, I’ve got news for you man. I’m sure you have watched the weather report when it’s going to or snowing. Do you ever hear the weather report presenters giving advice as what to do when the sunshine and warm weather returns? No, they focus on the matter at hand which is the snowfall and cold chilly weather, and slippery conditions. You are free to submit your positive suggestions to the cabal led by the double doctorate dude who you adore. I will continue to write and hit send to what I choose to opine about. You stay in your lane and I’ll stay in mine. I can’t be bought and that’s the main difference between you and me, in that you have to genuflect at the altar of the cabal but I will not surrender my independence to anyone. If you have balls put your real name to what you post online.

@Message to Jonathan, who said that you were bound to read my comments? You choose of your own free will to do so. If you are not satisfied with my point of view then simply don’t read what I post and it won’t have to bother you. Simple. I put my full name because I have no fear of what the cabal can do to me. I spoke of a lack of technocrats from the ministry of agriculture taking their rightful place on the delegation instead of ministers going to galavant at taxpayers’ expense. The delegation has one farmer who you say doesn’t support the government so why should this be groundbreaking news? Did you expect only Labourites as if the country and the agriculture sector belong only to those who are “red” as with the distribution of houses, fertilizer, and other things belonging to the country by the cabal and it’s cronies? You must be agreeing that this behavior is shameful and stinks of nepotism and corruption? I know that you agree with me.

Your comments are very well put. The absence of technocrats from this specific delegation clearly shows the lack of seriousness or lack thereof to even attempt to implement ideas discussed at this forum.

What Roosevelt does well is to use every chance he gets to hog favourable attentio in the local and regional media.

When I think of Roosevelt, Kim Jong -UN comes immediately to mind. Skerrit is UNtruthful, UNprincipled, UNdisciplined, UNintelligent, UNruly, UNtutored, UNcouth.
