Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, is expected to travel to Antigua and Barbuda to hold a meet-and-greet event with Dominica Labour Party supporters in that country.
Dominica News Online (DNO) was informed that the aim of this gathering, which will take place tomorrow, June 6, 2025, is to connect with Dominicans living on the island. It is a key part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP).
This anniversary is a significant milestone for the party, reflecting its long-standing influence on Dominica’s political landscape and its contributions to the country’s development.
Over the past weekend, the DLP hosted a rally in Dublanc that attracted thousands of people.
The event highlighted the party’s mobilization efforts and showcased the strong support that the DLP still commands among the populace.
Attendees expressed their enthusiasm and solidarity with the party’s vision for the future of Dominica. According to DLP officials, the rally not only energized local supporters but also reinforced unity within the party as it prepares for future political endeavors.
Prime Minister Skerrit has also received notable outreach from fellow regional leaders on the DLP’s anniversary, including Saint Lucian Prime Minister Phillip J. Pierre and Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley, who was a featured speaker at the rally.
As the longest-serving Prime Minister in Dominica’s history, Skerrit is expected to leverage this visit as an opportunity to inspire and motivate Dominicans living abroad.
He is likely to emphasize the importance of their contributions to the nation and encourage them to return home to participate in the democratic process.

I do not know of any government in Dominica who was kicked of government with a lower population than they met except UWP.
UWP won the election in 1995,they met a population of 69,000 when they were kicked out of office the was 68,000
Had UWP remained in power as long as Labour,Dominica would be called the Desert of Dominica,An average of two(2) hundred young people were leaving Dominica every year under UWP that is why UWP cannot get the young votes.

They so know that all that nonsense in Dublanc last sunday was just a show and he knows cannot count on Dominicans on island to win an ELECTION. Hence, he has to go out there to seek support from the Dominicans who in the first place ran away from their homeland because he is the one who KILLED the Dominican ECONOMY and made the country hard like YAM (and not just any yam: BABAwouley).
This Dominica Lethal Party (new DLP) is in campaign mode 24/7 three hundred and sixty six (366) DAYS. That is the reason why they have no time to bring serious and meaningful development to Ma Dominique.
My Young people you have NO FUTURE with the DLP. Educate yourselves about the electoral process and at the end of the exercise, elect an individual that will help you guys build a brighter FUTURE. Dominica’s lord Nelson that liar, MUST GOOOOOOOOO.
Maybe one of the questions that corrupted crook Roosevelt Skerrit should asks the Dominicans he is going to mesmerized in Antigua by rising and dangle his golden carrot in their faces, which is nothing more than a promises of a free plane ride home to vote for him in his perhaps planed surprised election: ‘ why do they abandoned Dominica, their place of birth, in favor of settling in Antigua; where they suffer rebuke by native born Antiguans with words such as Antigua is Dominican America?’
I am sure the answer would be, it’s because Dominica, is the poorest, no employment; island country, in the entire Eastern Caribbean, and the Caribbean; (or the West Indies in general)!They would assure Roosevelt there is nothing economically to benefit by remaining in a country where one survival revolves around his politics, and how low they bow to kiss Roosevelt behind!
Roosevelt Dominica population is dwindling because of your damage to the country people refuse birth children in poverty.
Dominicans living in Antigua should shun this unpatriotic, lying despot. The thousands of you had to flee your country because of desperate living conditions in your homeland while this self-absorbed tyrant has made himself the richest ruler in the Caribbean riding on the backs of the poor.
Your family members in Dominica are mostly unemployed, subjected to brute force, rubber bullets and suffocating teargas from his rabid, heavily armed body guards. Many go to bed suffering from flatulence as they are dead ‘ broke’. While this unconscionable scoundrel and his entitled wife, and two American-born children live in a palatial mansion, with access to the most luxurious fleet of vehicles, eating the choicest foods, while the masses precipitously fall below the poverty line.
He is looking for votes. Give him the finger of rejection on polling day when it comes around.
The stupid thing about it all is that they make a living in Antigua, and live better live’s; they build Antigua prepping a future for a young generation of Antiguan born. But rather than demanding such development in Dominica; so that Dominica with such great potential to become like the more developed islands of the Caribbean: they prefer to settle for a return ticket Antigua/Dominica, returning the very day they voted returning the corrupted crook to power.
Take it from me, I know illiterate Dominican women who are domestic servants cleaning peoples houses in Antigua earning a lot more per week, or month than a civil earn in Dominica.
These people fail to understand as long as they continue this trend of going home voting for Roosevelt and leave; they are practically aiding and abetting Roosevelt in the destruction of their country. How ignorant are these people and when will they understand that their hunger for that flight home isn’t helping the country, it helps one man.
