The Portsmouth Secondary School (PSS) has won the first ever Junior Achievement (JA) National Career Day Symposium.
The competition was held at the Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU) building on Friday.
Sonja Hamilton, who also represented the PSS, won the JA 2015 Top Apprentice title.
In second place was Dominica Grammar School (DGS), with Kayla Roberts winning the title for Best Personal Development Portfolio. Goodwill Secondary School (GSS) took the third spot.
The other schools that participated in the symposium were St. Martin Secondary School, North East Comprehensive School and the Pierre Charles Secondary School.
The JA National Career event was launched to provide students with an opportunity to interact with corporate Dominica while developing real world life skills.
Judges for the competition were drawn from Courts Dominica, Jolly’s Pharmacy, First Domestic Insurance, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and the Dominica Public Library and Information Centre which also provides sponsorship for the JA Programme.
Other sponsors include Premier Computing, CIS Enterprises, Caprice Hair Studio, Lime Dominica, 365 MMP, Jays and Julien’s Jewellery among others.
