The 56th Meeting of the OECS Authority is scheduled for November 22 and 23 2012, at the Rosalie Bay Resort.
On Thursday November 22, a special meeting of the Monetary Council and a joint meeting of the Monetary Council and the OECS Authority will be convened. The Monetary Council comprises of the Ministers with responsibility for Finance.
On Friday November 23, the 56th Meeting of the OECS Authority will be convened. This meeting will include the Business Session which will be followed by the Caucus of the OECS Heads of Government. The decisions taken at that meeting will be communicated via a press conference following the adjournment of the meeting.
A meeting for the Business Community of the OECS will also be convened on Friday Nov 23. The outcome of this meeting will be discussed with the Heads of Government that same day at Rosalie.
It is expected that, among other matters, the 56th Meeting of the OECS Authority will outline the way forward towards the implementation of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre, consider applications for membership of the OECS, establish the Economic Affairs Council and engage the Business Sector from across the region.
What great foresight to have this meeting out of the city and at Rosalie. Dominica is going places by having such excellent facilities out of Roseau. As true Dominicans let us welcome our OECS brothers and sisters and encourage them to take decisions that will bring progress to our citizens. I must go out to visit those new hotels that are getting such international recognition.
By the way I undersand that Fort Young, Garraway, Sutton and Flamboyant are full.
Why do people continue to speak from an uninformed standpoint. In recent years Dominica has hosted several big meetings, including the CARICOM Head of Government Meeting, at least two OECS Heads of Government Meeting among others. You people take way to much pride in trying to look for negative in everything. Mark you of all the meetings attended have been rated the best ever just ask former Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonzalves

In Dominica’s case look at brilliant Leadership a State Place costing over 27Mill and then look at your local economy…
Seems like free and governing oneself in this part of the region did not kick in well with some Nation Leaders, they lack the Ability to Think Big!
Not only $27 million when our economy is crashing but chinese labour and raw materials. The money is not even being recycled into the economy which is one of the major goals of capital projects.
This outrageous amount of money on such a useless project is at the very least supposed to have the money saturate the pockets of locals who can then go spend spend spend and turbo blast the multiplier effect.
But no. Just more tax is going to come our way to help service that loan.
Thats great business for our hotel sector! I am pleased that Dominica is hosting. Come on Dominicans lets show the delegates the warm hospitality that Dominicans are known for!We are small geographically but large at heart…I hope they have a true nature island experience.
Amb Gregoire will undoubtedly make his presence felt at this meeting.

you need to be more qualitative in your thinking than quantitative. Quality is better than quantity any day but as usual dominicans are always prepared to accept crap.Why do we have to wait for the visit of a cricket team or a heads of government summit for our roads to be given a little patching of pot holes. Foolish people are the ones who accept that kind of garbage as treasure so you ought to have a good look of yourself in the mirror. We deserve better in this country but we will not get better when we have so called bright people accepting a little bit of asphalt in a pot hole as progress No Wonder we are so back ward. ALAS!!!!!
yes wee and road patching like crazy….but thanks alot because if it was not for that meeting we would never get that. not before next elections.
My thoughts exactly…the road could have disappeared waiting on the next election.
OK Dice…so the cleaning of the road in other part of the country and the road being constructed all over is for what purpose.

lol i only wish they had that meeting at jungle bay so the roads would patch up and grass cutting al the way to junlgebay resort
