The Antigua and Barbuda government says it has “successfully negotiated’ the repayment scheduling of three interest free loans from China.
A government statement said that Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer met with a Chinese delegation headed by Ambassador David Shoul to discuss the repayment of the loans to be used for the “construction of a number of facilities and infrastructure” including the multi-purpose cultural center .
The statement said that the loans in excess of US$23 million that were due for repayment during the period 2004 to 2012 will now be repaid between 2016 and 2027.
I would say that it is a good news that they have4 successfully renegotiate it for good. Follow this up for more updates.
What a surprise!! The present Antiguan Government taking loan from China and evening asking for extension on their payment. What hypocrites!! When they were in opposition every morning I could remember them passing in their white bus chatting on their loudspeaker “Chinese breeding like ginny pigs” and other insultive words just like the opposition in Dominca doing right now.
GOOD JOB MR. PM…
