Cuba cutting 500,000 gov’t workers

HAVANA, Cuba — Cuba announced today it will layoff at least half a million state workers by early next year and reduce restrictions on private enterprise to help them find new jobs — the most dramatic step yet in President Raul Castro’s push to radically remake employment on the communist-run island.

Castro suggested during a nationally televised address on Easter Sunday that as many as 1 million Cuban workers — about one in five — may be redundant. But the government had not previously laid out specific plans to slash its work force, and the speed and scope of the coming cutbacks were astounding.

There is nothing wrong in donig some “home cleaning”. Every country is doing some belt tightening
now. The “ALMIGHTY USA” is downsizing too.
Cuba is just falling in line like everyone else. It’s a new Global Reality.

I have always seen socialism/communism as the best way of life. Today some of you are celebrating the loss of job of the Cuban people as a victory. What ignorance is this? Although this subject does not talk about communism, but I must point out that I see democracy as one of the most wicked tool on the surface of the earth. My definition for democracy is you do and I don t do, and if challenge, you find means to justify deeds.

This is why I am not a believer in democracy, but one of truth.

After all the Castros and others knew that socialist system was effective until the years of CAMECON… when everything was sent from the socialist bloc: Russia and Eastern Europe.
Even their central planning with every factor they could have controlled they could not produce their only quota of 10 miilion tons of sugar… the fact is socialism is too inefficient, no one really cares cuase no one really losses..
nonetheless, Fidel is a genious and its good that he admiited it before the finally retires.. Cutting jobs is the first move towards using human resources efficiently..

When Cuba had economic support a few decades ago, it was among the top twenty countries in the world with the best sports competitors, the best Doctors the best musicians, the lowest infant mortality and so much more..
In the long history of capitalism it has created Wars, Misery, Slavery, Inequality, Drug abuse, Gangsterism Industrial Mass production causing Destruction of the Ozone.. Money, money Money, money !! only for the rich.. Only for a few.

At least communism was trying to give everyone Food, Clothes, Shelter, Schools and Hospital.

In these times (Capitalism Economic Crisis itc,,) Castro not supposed to carry socialism on his shoulders alone.
Its up to mankind to make a choice Equality and unity or Capitalism and GLOBAL DESTRUCTION !

    what a baseless comment!
Why is a victory for capitalism something you wish to celebrate?
Do you wonder that the communists are celebrating the downturn in the money markets and the ensuing recession as a victory for communism?

    Engage brain before pen!
