Antigua – Service station operators were among hundreds who converged at the Holy Family Cathedral yesterday afternoon to bid farewell to Dorothy Prince, the woman who was killed on the job at Dee’s Service Station during a robbery on February 17.

Among those paying respect was her former boss Jean Claude D’Ornellas, who recalled how hard-working, dedicated and committed the Potters woman was during her tenure at Dee’s.

“It is with great grief that I stand here, as the life of a good person, a mother, a friend, an employee, was cut short in a ruthless manner, …” D’Ornellas told the gathering.

It makes no difference where Dorothy was from. We are all one nation, and children of God. The way in which her death came, was not called for.I believe that we West Indians are becoming to Americanized, and we have no self worth, and values. Dorothy sleep on my dear, and may the good angels guide you, and look after your children. RIP – GOD BLESS!

Reading this article brought tears to my eyes as I thought, how sad that she died in such a manner. I specifically thought of her young children who now realize that their mother is no longer with them and what would be their feelings as they grow older.
The funeral must have been a very sad one. I have worshipped in that Church whenever I visit Antigua and spend some time there.
I am pleased to read that she got a good send-off and many dignitaries as the Antigua PM and others who attended.
As a Dominican who resided in Antigua and the fact that she was murdered in Antigua by an Antiguan shocked them and touched the very core of their hearts. When such occurs, people usually place themselves in that situation and think, “It could have been they, a friend or associate.”
Antiguans are generally friendly people. I love Antigua. I have visited there a few times and also spent vacation in Antigua and have some fond memories and pictures of my visits. If I pass through Antigua in transit to Dominica, from the airport, I usually make a few telephone calls to those whom I know who reside there. I know a few who reside here from my youth in DA and when I visited Antigua.
There is no doubt that Antiguans who know Dominicans, whether residents of Antigua or not remember their Dominican friends at such a time and made the effort to attend. There are also other Dominicans who reside in Antigua.
There is no doubt that Dorothy felt at home in Antigua.
As other Dominicans I thank the Antigua PM, other dignitaries, her employer and all others who projected compassion, who assisted in any way and who attended her funeral. May God bless them all. May Dorothy rest in peace. Amen.
May God shower His mantle of love and protection on her children. My heart goes out to them.

My deepest condolences to her entire family… and may she Rest in Peace.
Some people just like to inflict unnessary sadness on others.

That was the largest funeral ever in Antigua. Dominicans turned out in their numbers to support their own, it was sad but at the same time touching. My condolences to the family.

Sad story, indeed. Reading this brought tears to my eyes.

I am particularly impressed by the way all of Antigua showed respect to the deceased. Also, I am even more impressed that a Dominican was loved and respected in Antigua, given the fact that we would occasionally hear of negative stories about Dominicans living in Antigua and other Caribbean Islands.

Rest in peace, Miss Prince. I pray that your children will be place in homes where they will be given the same love and treatment that you gave to them.

God bless Dominica, God bless Antigua, God bless us all.

RIP dear. I hope that your children and family find peace and comfort.

I must say I am impressed that the Antigua PM and National security minister paid their respects.
