A 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted St. Lucia on Tuesday night, the the Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) is reporting.

According to the SRC the quake occurred at 11:45 pm and was located at 14.02° degrees north, and 60.61 degrees west at a depth of 20 km.

The report said tremors may have been felt in nearby islands.

There were no reports of shaking or tremors in Dominica.

The quake is the latest in a series of tremors that have occurred in several Caribbean countries in recent months.

Earlier this month, Trinidad and Tobago was shaken by a quake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale just as SRC officials warn the oil rich twin island country to be prepared for a major earthquake.

Late last month, Antigua and Barbuda and several other countries in the Leeward Islands also felt the effects of an earthquake.

Some of the posts are a load of BS. What has God got to do with this? Earthquakes happen when two rocks/plates move releasing energy that causes seismic waves. Come on peeps…Education, Education, Education. Some of the comments are mainly of ignorance. Earthquakes have been happening since the beginning of time, as do hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunami’s and other natural disasters. Major earthquakes have been known to occur at night. Commonsense prevails here, at night most people are at home and usually asleep, which is why there is higher impact and more casualties. When humans stops being cruel to the planet perhaps only then nature can be at one. Constant drilling for oil, nuclear bombs, nuclear testing, pollution, deforestation, and other such man-made destruction only serves as a warning when nature unleashes its force. I’m not against those who believe in their bible, but I’m sure every generation can quote a natural disaster that may see the world coming to an end…

It is said that usually earthquakes occur early morning. The reason for this is how good God is. If they occurred during the day more damage and deaths would occur. I hope there was not much damage and very little injuries, if none at all.
Setting certain views aside, let us pray that we really do not experience a bad one. I have stated previously that I experienced a few small ones in Toronto and another a few years ago, 5.0. It was scary being in a building and observing everything swaying. It could have been worst. I pray I do not experience one as that or worst than that one.

A builder can build and brake down a home when he wants, it he feels it needs improvement or just want to get reed of it. God is the creator of the universe and human beings, and when his time comes he will do what he wants with every thing.

Take it or leave it, the Holy Bible stands predominant. We need to stop flexing our muscles in the creators face. We human beings are too ungrateful. Sooner or later, we all will suffer the consequences of our disobedience, and disrespect. How do you feel when your children disobey or your employees disrespect and disobey you. Think about it.

The earth is the Lord’s and its fullness thereof.
With sin comes consequences. Repent. He said in the last days perilous times will come. Wars, Earthquakes, Farming, and many more. Don’t turn a blind eye.

Every single one of you commenters below are idiots….earthquakes happen every single day…its geology not the devil rising through the cracks or Jesus coming for your worthless souls…it is plate tectonics…Pick up a book other than the bible!

The joke is most of them don´t even read the bible either. They just repeat what their pastors/priest/church elders etc tell them. That whole attitude of bible truth is just a myth. Most of those people have no idea of the barrage of absurdities contained in that piece of garbage.

Let your family members end up in a crisis or u lose a love one. I assume the word ‘God’ never comes from your mouth or you have never once uttered a word from the Bible when it is convenient for u

You must be another idiot for it takes one to know one. If only we knew who you are and how you live. Hold your breathe. One day there will be a big one. This may very well be the manner in which our patient God will destroy the world, fire and brimstones for its sins/immoralities, godlessness and increasing ones.

So…6 posts, all of them dealing with how “sinful” the world is. You are aware that natural disasters such as earthquakes happen all the time because of the close proximity you are to the fault boundary of the Caribbean and Nazca plates right? This is a Natural Disaster, not some sign of the imaginary end times. Whether you prayed or not this would still have happened. Think about all those who didn’t pray and are still alive, well and walking about on your island. “Act of God” is an insurance term, not an explanation for a natural disaster.

Read your Bible..a natural disaster is an act of God. He controls everything..decides when it happens , how it happens and the effects. And for your information, the Bible says in the last days these things will be occurring more frequently and with greater intensity…it is infact tied to the sinful nature and behavior of man. Lastly, when the ‘imaginary’ end times actually bbecomes a reality, hope you remember this convo

Riiiight… the people who were there around the time of Krokatoa probably thought it was the end of the world too. Considering a volcanic eruption was heard in different places around the world and the skies were red for days.

Trials and tribulations. I do not know what your religion is, however, the thought crossed my mind what the Mother of God, the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary said to a visionary which is always a message for us all, “Gradually, different countries will be annihilated”. Words to that effect.
She also said, “I tell you to turn off your televisions and follow the path that God has set for you.”
I am smiling at this one as I recall ‘the computer’. :)

And the Mother of God said, “Pray to understand the times we are living in.” Her messages are all about conforming to the Holy Will of God and praying. It is in the Bible. However, we know not when the time will come.
