Grenada officials investigate LIAT security breach

Law enforcement authorities are on Tuesday investigating a LIAT security breach at Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport.

In a release the regional airline said the breach occured when an unauthorized person tried to gain entry to a LIAT aircraft which was parked at the airport overnight.

Initial checks revealed that one of the emergency doors had been deployed, the company said.

A thorough assessment will be carried out by LIAT’s maintenance team before the aircraft is returned to service.

LIAT’s security department is assisting the Grenadian authorities in the investigations.

How is it LIAT is at fault for parking their aircraft at a supposedly secure part of an international airport? Surely the fault lies squarely with the airport authorities who’s capacity it is to maintain a secure boundary around the airfield.
Answer this: If you had left your vehicle in a secure lock-up and returned to find it had been tampered with in your absence would you be the one to blame for this occurance?
    Hmmm?

LIAT is not at fault for parking their aircraft at a supposedly secure part of an international airport. Surely someone is at fault, but whom? We do not know if the fault lies squarely with the airport authorities whose capacity it is to maintain a secure boundary around the airfield.
True, if I left my vehicle in a secure lock-up and returned to find it was tampered with I would blame myself for NOT double checking to make sure it was really secure because sometimes we do overlook the obvious. Hmmmmmm, inded.

Security breach, emergency door tampered with, that has employee involvement written all over it. Went to pick up the drugs they had brought in or something of the sort. I have flown Liat once and was extremely disappointed. Since then I have not

LIAT, LIAT, LIAT, shifting blame. How do we know LIAT is not involved, making a name for themselves.

As PM Roosevelt will encounter many obstacles.

When will LIAT have competition? With NO competition Tourism and Citizens abroad wanting to vacation in Dominica will DIMINISH.
