Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo has told Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries that they should pursue a non-reciprocal trade agreement or a partial scope agreement with China, similar to the one that exists between his country and Brazil.
Addressing the two-day China Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum that ends here on Tuesday, Jagdeo said that because of the small size of regional economies the top 30 or 40 export commodities could be imported into China on a duty free basis.
As he performed for Caricom back in 2008-2009, we should all pause tomorrow, Sept 16th, and pray and pay respect to the “King of Soca” from the Emerald Isle, on the first anniversary of his death, Alphonsus Edmund Celestine Cassell, “The Mighty Arrow”. He was Electrifying on Stage as he performed his greatest hits OF ALL TIME – HOT, HOT, HOT, CURACAO TABONG, MAN FROM AFRICA. ARROW REMEMBERED.
He was the one to object to EPA negotiations. Little did he know that there was a EU citizen as Caricom chairman.
“Guyana’s President Bharrat. Jagdeo has suggested that “the region was bullied”
