Thousands of Jamaicans tuned in to their televisions and radios on Sunday evening last, to hear just who or what pushed Prime Minister Golding into giving up the leadership of the Jamaica Labour Party a full three years ahead of his stated timetable of 2014.
According to a JLP news release “ Mr. Golding said he had planned to lead the party into a second tern of government and leave office within two years thereafter.”
Please do not compare the Jamaican PM to the Dominican PM and vice versa.
Mr. Golding thought that he would do the right thing to resign under the circumstances.
There are too many accusations against him and some people lack compassion and forgiveness. God will deal with them and their hearts in time.
Being human not only a politician he took them seriously. This is to be expected.
As a non-Jamaican, I wish him well. He has supporters who will be sorry about his resignation.
We should know the saying: “When one door closes another one opens…” in time.
Mr. Golding, Godspeed and God bless you. Take a good rest and a holiday prior to taking up any other endeavour.
Ras B,is it Ras Bullshit?Go give your children rule your house if u like, but we do not want any inexperience yout to rule this land!Y would Mr.Golding allow the Dudus Coke affair to take a toll on him? When polititiviol can causeons are hungry for power by any means, that’s what happens to them.Getting involved with criminal drug dealers just to win an election, see what evil can cause?
give Mr. Skeritt a rest let he run the DLP he is doing a good job! HE IS true gentleman and statesman than the JLP! A ME SAY SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what I call a true gentleman and statesman. He realized it is very difficult to manage and therefore decides to put country first. Is Mr. Skeritt reading what I am reading?
In his own words the Jamaican Pm says that “He could not allow the challenge we face and the issue that we as a people must confront to be smothered or overpowered by this saga and the emotions that they ignite. It would not be fair to my country, it would not be fair to my part.”
What Mr. Skeritt has been accused of is far worse and more damaging that that of this gentleman. So Mr. Skeritt based on what your name has been called in, I have a few personal questions to you sir:
1. Is it fair to your country for you to remain in power?
2. Is it fair to our party (I know it’s not your party) for you to remain in power?
3. Are you not supposed to be a member of the DLP? If yes, why not follow the footsteps of this JLP leader and resign before you are kicked out in disgrace?
4. Do you not have enough money?
5. Did you not say last week that this country is hard to manage? I suggest for the sake of country, party, and you best interest, that you step down and allow someone with a cleaner slate the opportunity to run our country.
This is liitle girl talk, you are dismissed.
Now that it is conformed, we must not forget that me WIKILEAKS had stated these very same reasons in a previous post why Mr Golden would have step down.
So by extension, it was not just Dudus Coke…read b/n the lines as they say.
So you see in Dominica where we try to stiffle youthful leadership, others are seeking what we have!! Beware! take note. I am not saying that because our prime minister is relatively young all that he does must be accepted. I am simply stating that it is time for the UWP to recognise the need for younger leadership as opposed to its incessant presentation of Grand dad’s army as an alternative to the younger and more energetic DLP leadership.
Like the westindies cricket team. Huh
