Mavare was shot in the head

Venezuelan politician German Mavare, leader of the opposition UNT party, died Friday after being shot in the head, an assassination that occurred in the western state of Lara, his organization said.

“The board of the UNT expresses its deepest sorrow for the slaying of colleague German Mavare. We demand justice and an end to violence,” was the message posted on the Twitter account of the UNT party, headed by jailed ex-presidential candidate and former governor of Zulia state, Manuel Rosales.

The mayor of Iribarren in Lara state, Alfredo Ramos, said on his Twitter account minutes after the incident occurred before dawn Friday: “German Mavare, of the popular urbanization of Carucieña, a tireless fighter for social causes, has just been hit by a bullet in the head.”

For his part, Luis Florido, an opposition lawmaker of the Voluntad Popular party, said on Twitter: “German Mavare died. A red bullet ended his life. Politics today is high risk. We demand an investigation of the case #NoMoreViolence #Lara”.

The authorities have not yet issued a statement about the matter.

Serious times, I have heard goons in Dominica state they are prepared to take a bullet for Skerrit to stay alive and in power which means they are also prepared to give bullet for this man to stay in power. People, Dominicans who are sitting quietly by and allowing corruption to take over and you say and do nothing and Communism is filtering through, these bastards will do anything to stay in power. The makings of a Dictator is clear, people let us claim our beautiful country from the hands of these dangerous people

    Sorry this occurred to him.
My heartfelt sympathy to his family. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
Fellow D/cans you should avoid making certain comments. Some of you are not discreet. Put yourselves in his position. Think, what if it happened to you or someone you know? Do not give others any such idea. This, too, is inciting. Watch your words which could one day condemn you. Be kind!

    Are you threatening Lennox?

Admin sentiments such as this is the reason why I believe you should no allow anyone to post comments on your site unless the write under a real name, and when they register on your site the should use a genuine address.

Whether or not you publish address and E-mail that should be a matter of discretion , but when there are people making threats as this person has done we should at least know them by name, and would have the address of where they can be found if anything were to happen to Lennox this case.

And let me assure the person if any harm come to Lennox, whatever you all do to him, the same thing will happen to lots of people until the perpetrator get what the do to him. Admin my comments is not a threat, but if you post the treat of one person I hope you will post my response
