US eases travel restrictions to Cuba

President Barack Obama is working hard at improving Cuba-US relations.

WASHINGTON (CMC) – The Obama administration on Friday eased restrictions on Americans’ travel to Cuba in what it says is an effort to encourage more contact between nationals of both countries.

“The president has directed that changes be made to regulations and policies governing purposeful travel, non-family remittances and US airports supporting licensed charter flights to and from Cuba,” the White House said in a statement.

@ mr sout. listen the man is compromising (obama) sometimes you have to do that inorder to not leave the people who need your help the most do not get left in the dark. this m,an is taking on a job that many other presidents has failed. he is a black man in a white world . therfore i think he doing the best he can do. do you know what pressure this an i under. we do not want to see him end up like lincoln, we have to pray for this man , not criticize him. put yourselfin his shoes for a sec. and by the way i am proud to be black to see black everywhere doing good things. you dont know where i am so dont assume .would you rather see a palin or bahner or a limbaugh as resident,. be grateful it could be worst. thank you.

Don’t get me wrong I understand where you are coming from. But I really don’t get the point of try to please people that has made it clear that they want you too fail. That my biggest problem with the man. And always compromising is starting to make look weak…

Have you not heard the US news? They have already called him communist and many other degrading names. Some of them are jealous of him being a US President. They wished that they were the US President. Some others are racists. They do not recognize the good that he has done and the good he is trying to do.
One of them, a Republican stated that he will ensure that he does not get another term. Another said about the establishment of Health Care Reform: “They, the Republicans will make it difficult for him if not impossible that HCR is not passed.” Now they are trying to repeal HCR. Some wicked people who really do not care about those, especially the poor who do not have health care and cannot afford to pay for it.
There are Cubans who reside in the US who would like to visit their relatives. Some of them are already enjoying that privilege.
Furthermore, President Obama should resume a good relationship with Cuba. This does not mean that he is a communist. President Obama is not a fool. I would also think that his aim is peace and not war.
One does not fight fire with fire. You do not catch a fly with vinegar but with honey. He recognizes the result to be on good terms with Cuba.
Consider that some years ago Castro allowed the Holy Father Pope John Paul II to visit Cuba. This was a stepping stone to democracy and freedom of religion even though Cuban residents are not yet enjoying it but in God’s time it will come. Since then Castro has made some changes for the better in his country.
Cuba’s problem is that it has a non-democratic government. Its people are not free to travel and appear not to enjoy their basic human rights which God has accorded all human beings but for a dictatorship government.
Poor President Obama. He is getting a lot of heat and unfairly so from some US people especially the opposition. It is no doubt a great burden on his shoulders. In view of this, I wonder if he will run for another term.
From my point of view, this is the best US President that America ever got. He cares a lot for the people, all segments of society. He does not discriminate against anyone. Think of his cool demeanor amidst numerous criticisms and objections. He is one great man, US President.
We also need to pray for him. May God bless him and also grant him another term to continue his good works for America.

They are suppose to remove this entire embargo. Obama said he would work on removing the embargo during his campagn elections. This isn’t anything but a “I’m just going to sratch the surface”. These people are living in poverty because the world super pwoer who controlls the currency, resources and financial amrkets have issue with cuba’s leader. No president want to remove the embargo because they are afraid those ignorant americans don’t vote for them. Americans are scared of socialism without even knowing what it entails. But anyways i guess if somebody think you beggin its okay to smile and let them drop you a penny.

P.s: if obama is the only reason you’re proud to be black then you have some serious personal issues to deal with. Its called “self hate” . Work on that!

Your country elected one of the first women leaders in the world and first woman leader in the caribbean. This was at a time when racism was at an all time high in the states. Whether you liked her or not this country of black people elected her. Your country elected one of the youngest leaders in the world (I can’t stand skerritt by the way), Your country is filled with hardworking black people who have reached very far after their livilyhood bananas were crushed by “big brother”. Even if Dominicans get on my nerves and you now proud to be black from an american president? Sweets you got some serious issues. Slef hate should be a crime.

So I am an uncle tom because I think the man is a crappy president? FOH with that nonsense. When he won the election I was driving around for two week playing my president is black on repeat, that’s how proud I was of him. But over time the man has proven that he wants to please people that was not supporting him and not even doing what he promised. Examples Ending the war, universal health-care, extending bush era-taxes etc. And Michael Steele is a man idiot. I feel insulted you compared me with him. And you only proud to be black because of the president of another country? sucks to be you.

If any of the people you mention becomes President of the US. I am going to pack my bag on move back home. I said the man is a crappy President that doesn’t mean I won’t vote for him. I would rather a crappy Pres than one that is hungry for war or one that is in favor for the wealthy. And why would I be bigging up the tea party when I was in favor of him ending bush era taxes?

allu enjoying free health care,,,well the repubs fool u all n say it is forced so that they can fight for their pharmaceautical interests,,,,the economy is rebounding after 8 years of mismanagement under the bush administration,,,,every good bill the democrats wanna pass get held up by the republicans,,,,now allu go n vote them in,,,,with majority in the house they are now going to try n remove the free health care and insurance,,,,no kind of back bone,,,,wat a silly statement,,,, if u knew how politics run u’d know that u have to please others to get ur way my friend,,,,, the republicans wanted more tax exemption for there rich collegues which is 1% of u.s residents,,,,, so they held up the zadroga bill,,,,how wicked,,,,a bill which is meant to help those who volunteered during 9/11,,,, who are now suffering from respiratory n other illnesses such as cancer etc,,,,, obama out of the love of his heart had to bend to their will since they have the majority in the house thanks to u n ur kind,,,, and passed the tax exemption they wanted and after that they (republicans) voted unanimously for the zadroga bill,,,, so b4 u say he has no back bone get the facts and understand unlike in dominica where one man run the show,,,in the u.s having power doesn’t mean u wield it,,,,,its a united effort,,,,right now obama chances of re-election is much certain than if he had played the fighter role the democrats wanted,,,,also i want u to understand when his democrat colleagues lambase him for what he did,,,, they know it’s the right move but they have to please there constituents in order to look like they are doing the will of their people so they’ll stay in power o.k,,,,oh n one more thing,,,,do u know or heard of the report which came out where obama is the most liked man in the world n hillary is the most liked woman,,,,with oprah trailing her,,,, well b4 u post hot-air do ur proper research n understand how policies are handled,,,,u have to give in to get sometimes and when the republicans got the majority u will have to bend to them like it or not

          @mouth of the south
There is no such thing as free health care my friend. That why I said the man has no back bone!! He wanted universal health care but punk out after the Republicans started to complaining. Why should he try to please the republicans when they have made it clear that the goal is to prevent Obama from winning in 2012? And he being the most like man in the world has nothing to do with him being a crappy president, he the most liked man in the world because is BLACK!!!!.

          January 17, 2011

how dare u say it’s cause he’s black he is the most liked,,,,, that black thing over now my boy,,,,if he is crappy they’ll spit him down n step on every black inch of his body,,,,americans realise the economy is rebounding my friend so i don’t see what u r saying,,,,,with fox news the repubs had or have a better campaign,,,,obama fighting them would really put him out of contention for next election,,,,why??? its cause americans don’t like to be controlled,,,,it is seen as socialism,,,n this is what the republicans fed them,,,,,they said obama is a socialist n so has forced universal health care unto them,,,,, so even if the intention is good it back-fired bcuz fox news n others spread the propaganda n the citizens fell for the bait,,,,,again the republicans have the house majority,,,,they have the power to block all n every bill which reaches the house floor,,,,,even if it passes senate,,,,it must go through the house my friend,,,,i hope u are familiar with the process or else please enlighten urself b4 u make a fool out of urself,,,,, well the ‘free’ health care is paid somehow but bottom line is u won’t go n take money out of ur bank book,,,,, i know of dominicans who have had heart surgery and not pay a black cent o.k,,,,so i’m speaking on facts

mout of the south don’t fool yourself, I know how this thing works. And I live in the US so let me repeat myself again “There is no FREE health care”. You have to pay one way or the other. Now don’t get me wrong I commend Obama on the bill. But I still wish he had fight for the bill be wanted. Oh I don’t watch fox, I rely on AP for my news they tend to be less bias.
