Kandy, Sri Lanka – West Indies wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh says he feels relaxed and has a clear mind as the Windies prepare for the all important 3rd ERI Test match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday at the new Pallekele Stadium in the central city of Kandy.

The 28 year-old Baugh made an impressive 50 in the first innings of the 2nd Test to help the Windies reach the follow-on target. Now, he is eagerly looking ahead to the next five days.

“The tour is going pretty good for me so far. I am feeling confident. I’m comfortable behind the stumps and I’m also happy with my form in front the stumps. There is always room for improvement and I’m working hard to get better and better in all departments. I got a chance to bat for a long period in the 2nd Test and I wanted to make it count. I’m looking to carry that form into the 3rd Test and beyond into the ODI Series,” Baugh said.

“I have confidence that I will do well. I was out of the team for a few years and now I have the opportunity again, I want to make the most of every moment, every day, every match,” Baugh added.

“The innings I played in the last Test match, for me, was something special. I was more patient than I have been in the past and I realised I need to be patient and watchful to get scores at this level. This is something I have been working on and I’m looking to carry on. I decided I had to change my game and with that change I got a measure of success. I just need to keep working hard.”

First ball in the 3rd Test is 10 am (12.30 am Eastern Caribbean Time/11.30 pm Tuesday Jamaica Time). The three match series is level 0-0 after draws at the Galle International Stadium and the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
