DABA league moves to Trafalgar tonight

DABAlogoResults for games played on Saturday May 23rd in the DABA LIME National Basketball league.
In game one there was a Zone A First Division encounter between the Police Sports Club and L&O Gators from Mahaut. The law officers took command of the game from tip off and never looked back almost doubling their opponents tally with a 66 – 38 victory. For Police: Kerry Christmas had 15 points and 8 rebounds. He was supported by Lenny Dangleben with 13 points and 14 rebounds and Marlon Hilaire 14 points.

Gators had only one player in double figures; Sherlon Burnette – 12 points

In the second game of the night, the Blazing Bullets ran out of ammunition and fell 62 – 96 to the Former Premier Division Champions Sign Man XMEN despite a 24 point performance for Nathan Jno Jules. For the XMen, Kerry Leslie 20 points, Peter Ricketts and Davidson Toulon 19 points each, and Joseph Hypolite 18 points. Leslie also had 9 rebounds.

The XMen had even more reasons to smile last evening.  As part of the recently elected executive’s promise to enhance the spectator experience during the games, longtime Xmen supporter and avid basketball fan, Brenda Dorival, aka Sytox was presented with a cake by League Coordinator, Sabina Williams.  The presentation that was originally scheduled to take place on the Mother’s Day weekend, was delayed due to inclement weather.

On Sunday, Trafalgar will host the first out district games for the season.

I was very much impressed by the performance of Paix Bouche Eagles at thursday nights game against the falcons. They stuck to their game plan. With five players ,no subs, they control the game with a tight packed 2 3 zone defense and a well control zone offensive set, good ball rotationand determined offensive/ defensive transition. When pressed with man to man coveraged, they were poise and in control and lastly their time outs were well managed.I am of the opinion that their coach did a great job of keeping the team in focus and ensuring ,despite small runs by Falcons they stayed within the game plan .Well done Eagles!Expecting great things ! Also i must say the officiating was really good.
