Dominican captain of US women’s cricket talks ICC World Cup qualifier

Dominican Doris Francis was captain of the US women cricket team during the just concluded ICC World Cup qualifying tournament in Bangladesh

Doris Francis, the United States women’s team captain, was in two minds as she described the performance of the touring party at the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup qualifying tournament in Bangladesh in November.

Francis said it was a learning experience for the US players, but added it was disappointing after the team had just one win against Zimbabwe in the six matches played.

“As a captain I learned a lot and I also think the team also learned a lot from the other countries. The top ones are more professional than we are,” she said in an interview with USACA.org.

    amazing… all u going round the world to find dominicans doing big things in sorts.. and right in all you face…. under all u nose all you ave the west indies cricketer… PEARL ETTIENNE and not one mention of??!!! Come on Man… all u strectch as far as CANADA to talk about the footballer… pearl just recieved DCA’s Female cricketer of the YEAR>> 2011… and no mention… and if she leave today and go and play for another country… all u will talk about DominicAN PLAYER… SMH!!

    Congrats,
    hopefully the WICB could invite the US team for the regional women’s competition the same way we have the teams from england for the mens tourney.

    Congrats…. i am always happy when i hear someone from da doing big things…..too much politics in USA cricket…..they need to bring back coach Frazier
