DSC to clash with PCSS in U-20 basketball final

The 2012 Secondary Schools U-20 Boys Basketball Championship, organized by the Sports Division, will culminate on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

This Grand Final will take place between the Dominica State College (DSC) and the Pierre Charles Secondary School (PCSS)from 5:30 pm at the hard court of the Pierre Charles Secondary School in Grand Bay.

The Dominica State College and Pierre Charles Secondary School have again proven to be at the top of the game on island since they were also last year’s finalists.

Pierre Charles Secondary School played the North East Comprehensive School at Grand Bay

PCSS – 109 points
Kijuan Thomas – 16 points, 26 rebounds, 16 assists, 12 steals, 4 blocks
Kervin Augustine – 28 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, 3 blocks
Gerald Blaize – 30 points, 21 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 blocks
Kevin Toussaint – 20 pts 10 rebounds

NECS – 32 points
Presley Telemacque – 32 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals
Cody Hamlet – 22 points

Portsmouth Secondary School played the Dominica State College at Portsmouth

DSC – 78 points
Yannick Registe – 20 points
Lyndel Mayers – 17 points
Dane Robin – 15 points

PSS – 50 points
Kaloy Paul – 18 points
John James – 12 points
Donnel Leblanc – 10 points

The Dominica State College is the defending champion.

    Am I the only one who is amazed at this guy from PCSS stat line Kijuan Thomas – 16 points, 26 rebounds, 16 assists, 12 steals, 4 blocks that a quadruple double.

      Oh no, You ar certainly not the only one. That’s quite a feat put on by that young player. I have a gut feeling that he is well on his way to play for Dominica at the senior level in the not too distant future. Way to go Kijuan!!!**^^

    CONGRATULATIONS to the finalists. Please play good, clean basketball, and may the best team win. And don’t forget that defence is the key, score your free-throws, and dont blame the refs. And I hope fane and supporters get a final game score from both teams of at least 60 points.

    There was hardly any publicity given to the 2012 Schools’ Basketball League run by the Sports Division. I wish the Division would give more importance to basketball. Just consider the number of netball and cricket competitions, compared with basketball and football.
