FIFA instructor Livingston Bailey has hailed a 5 day FIFA MA Referee course held in Dominica as a success.
Speaking at the closing ceremony at the football house on Sunday May 25, 2014 Bailey said, “I was amazed at the level of interaction displayed by the participants. “
“Most of you have not been previously exposed to the intricacies of the laws of the game or refereeing in general. However, I was impressed with your willingness to learn and how you adopted to new learning principles, ” he said.
The participants, he said, exhibited “commitment” and were quite receptive both in the classroom and on the field, “Most important, however, was their positive attitude and desire to transform their minds from old way of thinking and adopting a more professional approach to their interpretation and application of the laws,” he stated.
Bailey called on the participants to “follow their refereeing dream” and eventually live that dream. “Use the knowledge you have acquired to facilitate your game management with confidence, ” he said.
He also showered praises on FIFA Fitness Instructor Keith Prosper saying, “he knew his subject matter…his name is already ringing bells with CFU and Concacaf Head of referee and fitness instructor Allan Brown.
President of the DFA Glen Etienne also addressed the 23 participants.
thats good FIFA but the DFA is nt doing shit for foot ball in DCA, our football is on the lowest standard ever.
I am happy that our referees are getting this type of training.
But the condition on which they express their trade has to be improved.
I would like the DFA to tell us what it’s plans are to build better fields in Dominica.
We are still waiting for proper playing fields all over Dominica.
Mr. Ettienne (DFA) you have to get down to the basics if you want Dominica’s Football to reach international standard. You have travelled all over the world and see what they have out there. So you should be fighting for us to have the same playing atmosphere in orther for our young boys and girls too compete on the world stage.
