A reasonable crowd, mainly from Fond St. Jean and Bagatelle turned out on Sunday to witness a key encounter in the Justina Charles Southern District Football League between Bafondpoint and Underground Stars of Grand Bay.
The game ended in a goal-less draw. As such, many chances went a-begging; however it was Underground Stars who was more disappointed, missing a penalty about five minutes to the end.
There is one preliminary match outstanding to be played this weekend between Nora Francis Young Gunners and Canefield Strikers.
The four teams in contention for the quarter finals are positioned as follows:
P | W | L | D | Points | |
Nora Francis Young Gunners | 4 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 10 |
Canefield Strikers | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 7 |
Underground Stars | 5 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 10 |
Bafondpoint | 5 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 8 |
Delices and Petite Savanne, the other two participating teams, have been eliminated.
