The LIME Social & Sports Club in the quest to promote a health and physically fit individual at the work place has organized the 1st annual Business Football League for the business community in Dominica.
The first match of the league kicked off on Thursday afternoon at the LIME Canefield Sports Complex when LIME Broadband Strikers got a lucky break against Customs Sports Club who scored an own goal to equalize the score at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Matches will be played from Tuesday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. weekly as 16 teams from the business community seek supremacy and bragging rights to be the first winner of the LIME Business Football League.
President of the LME Social & Sports Club James Dominique remarked that the annual event is geared at promoting a healthier and physically fit individual within the work place, one who will be able to deliver more to his working environment.
The sixteen teams registered in this year’s league are Customs Sports Club, LIME Broadband Strikers, Greens Wholesale, Police Sports Club, O D Brisbane & Sons td., J Astaphan & Co Ltd., HHV Whitchurch & Co. Ltd., Inland Revenue Department, DASPA, Sagico Insurance Co., Banks United, Marpin 2K4, Scotia Bank, Fort Young Hotel, DOWASCO and DOMLEC.
On Friday from 5:30 p.m. Police Sports Club will meet the guys from Greens Wholesale.
All matches will be played at the LIME Sports Complex at Canefield and begin at 5:30 p.m. and matches are open to the public to witness football at its best.
