The Sports Division will commence the 2011/12 Secondary Schools Netball Championships on Wednesday, 9th November at 3:00 pm at the Dominica Grammar School.
Addresses at the opening ceremony are expected to come from officials of the Sports Division and the Dominica Netball Association, His Worship Cecil Joseph – the Mayor of Roseau and Hon. Norris Prevost – the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency.
Following this ceremony, the usual ballorama will take place amongst the participating teams.
It is expected that approximately twenty-six (26) teams representing eleven (11) secondary schools will take part in this year’s competition. The schools are Convent High School, North East Comprehensive School, St. Martin Secondary School, Dominica Grammar School, Isaiah Thomas Secondary School, Portsmouth Secondary School, Castle Bruce Secondary School, Dominica State College, Wesley High School, Pierre Charles Secondary School and the Goodwill Secondary School.
Matches will be played at the U-14, U-16 and U-20 levels and are expected to culminate in January 2012.
Dominica State College is the defending champion school in the U-20 category, Cocoa Town Café PSS in the U-16 category and First Choice Delight PSS in the U-14 category.
