Standardz 7six7 SC Ballers advanced to the finals of the Joshua Francis ‘9 a Side’ Loubiere Football League by defeating Afrikaan Boys in semi final #2 on Saturday

In what was quite possibly their best performance of the season, the lads from Newtown displayed great composure with their intricate passing; controlling possession and play en route to an eventual dominant victory.

A 20th minute free kick from 7six7 SC’s Keron Magloire got the scoring underway; and they were on scorecards again within 10 minutes, Kimon Cuffy finding the back of the net from close range off a corner kick.

A subsequent free kick from Afrikaan Boys’ Samuel Omidoyin rattled the woodwork, but no further first half opportunities were converted, the 2-0 scoreline persisting to halftime.

The second half resumed with both teams searching for that dubious 3rd goal. Numerous attempts were rebuffed and a few squandered before an 80th minute strike from Keron Magloire unquestionably sealed the fate of the game.

A third from Magloire & one from Dylano Edwards rounded off the scoring to complete a 5 nil throbbing by Standardz 7six7 SC Ballers.

The league culminates this weekend with the grand final between Standardz 7six7 SC Ballers and Fredos Taxi Gunnerz United on Sunday 27th @ 4pm, preceded by the 3rd place match featuring Afrikaan Boys and Block Boys @ 2pm.
