You guys crack me up something chronic!! If The PM & Nantan got involved in the Chanderpaul throwing his toys out of his pram drama then they’d be criticised for interfering. The Selectors do not select Cricketers out of pity or nationality!!! They take an awful lot into account. It’s the Selectors and the Head Coach !! The PM has enough on his plate! Also Chanderpaul was NOT picked! Move on!! Oh Gosh – some of you are making this important Match all about a man who made his mark but it’s over!!! Let people enjoy their little cricket man!! Sacre’ tonneh!!
If you read my comment, you will notice I wrote, it doesn’t matter whether Chanderpaul is picked or not. I believe the same way he was honored by Skeritt and the Government when he scored a century at Windsor Park, a grand farewell from test cricket should have been organized on his behalf, especially as a test match will be played in Dominica.
It is unfortunate, neither Nantan or Skeritt came to the assistance of Chanderpaul during the last days of his test cricket career. It was the same men, a few years ago, who made a big thing about him, when he scored a century at the Winsor Park Stadium. As a matter of fact, they gave him a Dominican passport and also made him a honorary citizen. As to whether Chanderpaul should have been on the West Indies team presently in Dominica, is not the issue. As far as I am concerned, my issue, they were aware he was not going to be on the team almost a week ago , if they really cared about him, mind you, he holds a Dominican passport, why wasn’t he invited to Dominica by Skeritt and his Government in order to have a grand farewell party on his behalf. Skeritt and his Government will entertain the both teams while in Dominica. I wonder, what will be on his mind, knowing, when he made the big hoop la about Chanderpaul, is was not for love, just…
it was not for love, just politics.
