Windies need 370 for victory

Spinner Shane Shillingford ripped through the lower half of the Australian batting order to send them crashing for 259 all out half an hour before lunch on the fourth day of the Digicel Test at the Windsor Park.

The 29-year-old Dominican grabbed 4 for 100 from 29 overs. Roach, who took the final wicket of Starc (bowled for 21) collected 3 for 40 and Deonarine 3 for 45.

Resuming on 200 for 6 with Hussey and Harris at the crease the Aussies immediately set about building a total with urgency but was pegged back by Shillingford, who had Hussey caught by Sammy at first slips for 32.

Harris, the star of the Barbados victory, did not last much longer because when the score was 230 he was caught by wicket keeper Baugh of Deonarine for 9. It became 237 for 9 when Hilfenhaus was brilliantly caught by a diving Brathwaite off the bowling of Shillingford to give the local lad his 4th wicket in the game and ten in the match.

The home team has been given victory target of 370 with three sessions left: today and the final day on Friday.

West Indies will need to complete their highest successful chase since they rewrote the record books in Antigua nine years ago if they are to level the series against Australia.

Enjoyed, enjoyed. It was great to see everyone together at an activity. Old, young, it was a positive atmostphere for me. No politics, no drama, just some lovely days at cricket. We did not win but it was still great. DA got some money into the economy.

NO this is the biggest thing!! go watch it on TV or hide yourself. We love our cricket and SHANE SHILLINGFORD will be news till next year, and beyond get used to it. After all the tired heartless things that we have been inundated with people get a free up in cricket and you tight.

      Lovely cricket.. 4 runs.

Sorry to say as much as want WI to win they they have place themselves in a hole that is hard to climb out off. Most of the front line bats men have only 20 or less games to their names

Win, lose or draw, we should be proud of the man of the soil, Mr. Shillingford. According to Soul-puss…”back to the soil”.
