Captain of the West Indies cricket team, Denish Ramdin, says his team is ready for the battle with Australia ahead of the first Test match which bowls off the the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Ramdin was speaking to the press on Tuesday.
“We are ready for the game, we are on a high and in a good frame of mind…the boys have been training and so we are set to go,” he said.
Asked about the team’s possible make up for the game, he said he was not prepared to say, however he stated that the likes of (Marlon) Samuels and himself, who are two senior members of the team, will be playing along side the younger players.
“I have not yet looked at the wicket, so I can’t yet make an assessment but we know the tradition of the Windsor Park stripes,” Ramdim stated. He also refused to speculate whether the team would play with two spinners.
The team, he said, is “focused ” and set to go.
He also said they have studied the Australian players and will be ready for the action.
