Dancehall artist Supalyne is aiming to make a significant impact on Valentine’s Day 2025 with the release of his music video for “Wicked Tight.” The track is described as a blend of “seductive rhythms with unapologetic lyricism”, says a press statement from the artist’s team.
Originating from Fond Cole and raised in Marigot, Dominica, Supalyne’s style is a fusion of dancehall, bouyon, and hip hop. He has reportedly performed alongside some of the most prominent acts in the region. With aspirations of becoming Dominica’s first international dancehall star, Supalyne is committed to maintaining authenticity and innovation in his artistic endeavors.
According to the statement, “Wicked Tight” is characterized by its hypnotic dancehall beats and gritty, provocative storytelling. The song’s bold lyrics, promise crafting a tune appealing to thrill-seekers and lovers alike.
The music video, directed by Dreamer Films, features a mix of intimate close-ups and electrifying dance sequences, reflecting the raw emotions conveyed in the song. The visual transition between atmospheric shadowy shots and vivid, kinetic choreography, seeks to encapsulate the tension between vulnerability and power that characterizes “Wicked Tight.”
“Supalyne continues to carve a bold path in dancehall, merging traditional Caribbean rhythms with contemporary edge,” shares the statement, adding that with its Valentine’s Day release, the track positions itself for “ultimate anthem” status.
The track is available for streaming on all major platforms.
Listen to Supalyne’s inspiration for the song in his own words:

Go away with your pig stool. Keep your garbage confined to your dustbin. Produce something inspiring and edifying.
I have tried to listen to Supalyne’s inspiration for the song, but regardless of headphones and a hearing device, I can’t make out a word he is saying. The same goes for the lyrics in his video, the words of which the automatic captions has difficulty following.
This is unfortunate, because I would like to understand Supalyne’s rational behind the video, without which I have difficulty accessing his work.
As a painter and sculptor, I have spent a lifetime portraying the nude figure as a thing of beauty; to be revered rather than debased. I have not fought shy of the nude’s sexual implications, but tempered passion with restraint and kept in mind the words of a past master of the nude: ”Take the shoes from off they feet, for the ground you are about to step upon is Holy Ground”.
My recent video gives an insight to my work with the nude from the perspective of artist and model: https://youtu.be/YYXpzqD1RtA
ADMIN
My videa is suitable for all ages and relevant.
Art is art, yours may be about nudity, this may strictly hint about p*s*y. Doe dig!
Thank you for responding.
I take your point. However, the nude figure cannot be totally divorced from its sexual connotations. Indeed, I have written books on the subject and one of my videos, “Variations on a Theme” focuses on the very part of the female anatomy that you refer to.
It was for this reason that I was anxious to understand the artiste’s rational. However, this was not possible due to the poor quality of the voice recording.
Unfortunately, my comment took five days for Admin approval and hence, DNO readers were denied what could be an interesting and necessary debate on the subject.
ADMIN: Comments containing promotional links or certain content may take longer to be approved than normal (or not approved at all) for the following reasons:
1. Comments including promotional links may automatically be filtered out as SPAM and would manually need to be reviewed for content, due to the nature of SPAM the way most web platforms work this is more or less the current industry standard.
Note that we offer paid promotional services for such content (separate from comments).
2. Links are also filtered for content such as nudity which can also affect our ability to garner advertising revenue which we need to continue business operations.
The distinction on what is acceptable is not based on our own preferences but those of the advertisers and their agencies.
For example, we approved the comment along with the link to your video in this instance and we are still likely to be denied advertising revenue for the entire article as has been the case in the past for what we consider far less provocative content.
