The findings of a nationwide survey on the favorability of Roosevelt Skerrit as president of Dominica will soon be handed over to the individuals who commissioned it, says the Caribbean Agency for Political Advancement (CAPA).
Managing Director of CAPA Alex Bruno, told Dominica News Online (DNO) in an exclusive interview that with the tenure of the current president nearing maturity, CAPA was employed to gauge scientifically, the people’s opinion with regard to the new prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit, emerging as a future president of Dominica, now or sometime in the future.
According to Bruno, the 28 question survey conducted between February 11th and 20th, 2022, was done as a random convenient exercise, “which means that the country is plotted out by design on specific dates, and invigilators go around and speak to people who they meet randomly, and are convenient to give a response to the survey. So that is how we do this sampling.”
Bruno also stated that upon completion of the survey which was delayed due to COVID-19, the findings, and an opinion from CAPHA, if requested, will be handled over to the people who have commissioned the survey but it may not be available to the public.
“I do not know whether they’re going to make it public; I maybe doubt that it is something that the public will see because the individuals who wanted to know I guess wanted to know for their own reason or purpose, “ Bruno said.
While Bruno did not disclose the names of his clients, he said they are a group of individuals “with interests in the politics of Dominica, especially as it relates to the shifting dynamics” of the political leadership of the country.
“ It’s always healthy to know what the people think and this survey is on its end stages in terms of the fieldwork and [an] opinion will be offered to the commissioning agent, and it will be their work to do whatever they feel they want to do with it,” the political scientist stated. “But our work in CAPA is to get the information, to harvest the information, the opinions and to present it to the people who requested it.”
Prime Minister Skerrit, speaking on his weekly Sunday talk show in January of this year, dismissed claims that he will replace H.E Charles Savarin in 2023, to become the 9th President of Dominica. He went on to explain that to accept the position at this time would not be in the best interest of his party.
“Being the President of the country would be an extraordinary honor to be the Head of State of our country. I believe this is the ultimate position in the country but I am a politician and I have been at the helm of the Labour Party since 2004 and I do not believe that me becoming president at this time would be helpful to my party, so I would not accept,” the Prime Minister stated.
Skerrit did not completely rule out the idea of becoming President “down the road” but said 2023 is too soon.

I am so sorry for these blind slave minded Dominicans, the polls that Alex did was no wrong, they were all predicted correct, but you see that thing they call MONEY, that changes everything, that’s why Dominica will remain stagnant, a none progressive country with a beggar mentality majority, one of the most underdeveloped, poor and some of the most backwards people in the Caribbean, the only good thing Dominica has is water, that’s why most of the people brains are 50% water, when are they goin to open their eyes????
So what’s the point of this survey, it’s only a $30k per month vacation income.

“Alex has to be careful that the public loses confidence in his work.” You are talking future tense, Alex Bruno is past tense. The man has lost all credibility with all local political parties, politicians and the general public.
During the peak of the pandemic, many cruise ships were turned away from most ports. Alex is the personification of one such ship. The man has damaged his reputation beyond repair.

Alex Bruno is just a mischievous, deceitful, political non-entity yearning to be relevant. He never was and will never be. His poll will be as dishonest as when was asked at first, he claimed he had no involvement in the founding of App. By the way, has this political party gone into oblivion?

Alex you know you are very annoying. Why would you conduct a survey about a matter of national interest such as this, and not make it public? To be taken seriously as a Pollster you need to have credibility and the shady way in which you behave leaves much to be desired. You must remember that your reputation is not that great after this huge victory you predicted for the United Workers Party in the 2019 election and right after their defeat you expressed your dissatisfaction with the party by forming your own party. You then denied that you were affiliated with the party but in the party’s final days you claimed it was your party and rebels were trying to take it from you. Then there was the whole saga of whether you resigned or did not resign and secrecy about who the members were. Don’t know if you feel your behavior makes you mysterious. It just makes you appear as a deceiver. This word only because DNO will not allow anything harsher.

One time I went hiking in a mountainous area and got covered with fog. Visibility was zero. Mr. Bruno’s credibility is minus zero (-0).
By the fruits we know them. The past elections that Mr Bruno canvassed has shown us that the results were very wrong and as such polling work by him and his business can’t be depended on as reliable at this time. He was affiliated with the founders of a new political party in Dominca and we subsequently learnt from Ms Blanchard that the party which was supposed to be seeking to replace the Skerritt regime was in fact working closely with the corrupt cabal. Bruno subsequently resigned from the APP. In light of this revelation and the failure of the past polls the public doesn’t have much confidence in the results of this exercise in dreamology. Dream on Alex but this poll results are not of importance to patriotic Dominicans who are watching the country we love dragged through the mud and revenue from sale of our birthright benefitting only a few.
Even though I have excoriated Mr. Bruno because of his robust denial of involvement with the formation of the App, I must give him some slack about his prediction of the 2019 election results.
On the ground he had the prediction just about right. His fatal error, is that, he failed to factor in the immense number of citizens from the Diaspora that totally skewed the results in DLP’s favour. Without that added factor, UWP would have easily won the election.
Lest we forget, DLP wrestled the election victory from UWP by bribery, cheating, treating, ‘Cool-out’, shenanigans and blatant corruption.
I have to say in his Defense that it is extremely difficult to conduct accurate polling amongst dead people.

Look my people, Skerro can do what he wants and try all the tricks in the old school playbook but there will be hell in Dca if he chooses to occupy the whitehouse that the Chinese built him. Granted, he stayed there after Maria and never intended to leave until people started asking questions but I believe he fell in love with it after looked at the gradeur. Alex has to be careful that the public lose confidence in his work, as he tries desperately to appear legitimate but shows tendencies to be super shady. Money seems to be the noose by which many are led to sing sweeter to the highest bidder.
Alex you do your double talk again man. A public consultation you say, which means you get your answers from the public but at the same time you not revealing the results to the public. I would be very weary to give you a commission like that because how can your client be sure the results are true and not skewed and they are not throwing good money after bad. No man, your reputation too troublesome, is like sharing your bed with a snake.
