The Government of Dominica continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the social well-being and quality of life of the Dominican people as one of its foremost development priorities. This is being done through collaboration with external agencies and friendly Governments.

In 2011, the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Republic of India for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Information Technology in Dominica.

(a) Application and Software Development
(b) Website Design and Management

5. To train Government officials in ICT.
6. To upgrade the skills of the ICT Faculty in all schools and the Dominica State College.
7. To develop and expand e-learning initiatives to train locals as Trainer of Trainers.
8. To exchange experts.

The Centre of Excellence in Information Technology is now fully established and is located at the Upper Campus of the Dominica State College. The facility is equipped with top quality hardware, software and other equipment to enable the delivery of technical training in Information Technology.

Other members of the Cabinet, Senior Government and Private sector officials will be in attendance.

A little computer lab them man putting in the college. I dont see what the big show is about. Every school in this day and time should have one. See the size of the windows and the size of the AC unit. Not computers and people that going in that room? both generate heat. you need bigger windows or bigger industrial AC units. i dont know who the planners are but it seems they just do things as they go along. The ceiling looks low, but yet ceiling fans will be installed it seems. i dont know why we can only do mediocre here.

Could it be that the facility is partly below ground and that that’s the only way to allow some light in, hence the placement of the windows you talk about? Maybe. I do agree with your other points, however. Time that we really move to the next level and world-class in DA.

This is a fantastic step forward, hopefully all will come to fruition.
I must offer caution that when you embark on new territory you must consider all aspects for what the end result of your actions will produce.
I say this because the skillets listed will encourage IT development which will then require trademark, copyright and legal IT support for those who have developed technology applications.
That type of registration, trademarking and support will provide the legal support to protect right for people that may soon create products worth thousands, millions, tens of millions and hundreds of millions.

How would you as a government minister approach or stand besides a well establish man as Dr. Peters and feel a bit intimidated by his wealth of knowledge and experience?
