Two of the three men hospitalized as a result of a shooting incident on Monday night (Christmas Eve), have been identified as Albert Stevens and Arthur Bozel. DNO has not yet been able to determine the identity of the third man.
We were also informed that one of the men is from Grand Bay and the other two are from the Goodwill area.
A senior police officer told Dominica News Online on Tuesday (Christmas Day), that the shooting took place during an event featuring one of Dominica’s top bands at the Cove Night Club at Rock-away.
DNO has so far been unable to determine the extent of the injuries suffered by the men.
We continue to seek more information on the incident and will bring it to you as it becomes available.

Why doesn’t the Government and people in charge not implement and enforce good laws? Catch you with an unlicensed gun,10 years,use the gun for a rubbery 15 years,shoot and hurt or kill someone with an unlicensed gun 20 years. But I guess if they implement those laws then we’ll have an issue about where they gonna house them as our prison already over crowded. Every foreigner that visit this country that I have met, said this is one of the most beautiful place they have ever been to, yet reading these seems to put me in a weird space, thinking I normally visit my parents birth place when I want to get away from Gang life, yet paradise seems to be going the direction am trying to get away from. Security may not help. They are bold people and will defy them. There are some clubs in Toronto which have security/bouncers right at the door and sometimes they, too, get injured or killed.

I am not certain that this petition would mnake a great difference in light of the fact these firearms appear to be illigal and unlicensed, whereas in the USA the weapons used in assults are oft times legally purchased and licensed. i was at the Triple Kay Jam organized by Underground and the Police need to stop these underground people from having jam because they are not concerned about the security of their patrons.

The police should also inform the organizers to close down the place once there was an injury and/or murder. They would have to conduct an investigation on the spot.
I can tell you if this occurred in Toronto that would be the end of that jam/party. People will not hang around. They fear gun shots. As the saying, “they will immediately split” once they hear gun shots because they know the police will soon be present. Some people also fear the police. The police do not have to stop the party. The patrons themselves will do so by fleeing from the place to the extent that the police will have problems finding witnesses. They have to go through the Media, especially TV to ask witnesses to come forth.
Sad start of the festive season but out of curiousity is it the same Albert Stevens who was indicted for attempted murder at the begining of this year and later freed on a charge of wounding after a no case submission by his lawyer Ms Dyer

Hummmm, shame shame shame, whilst the Task Force is focusing on bringing down police officers for guns which they themselves in the Task Force have at their homes ,in their vehicles and walking around with illegally, civilians are shooting each other live in Roseau whilst Task Force asleep.Part of their responsibilities include finding themselves at those events and search especially the known trouble makers along with their friends and girlfriends if needs be, but no they focusing on police.
There is more intense police scrutiny at political meetings of the UWP and PSU meetings too. The police come in uninvited with cameras and tape recorders to take pictures and notes of people who come to exercise their democratic rights. Yet when it comes to hard core criminals and keeping the peace, the police keeps an unhealthy distance from the scene.
