Im a local who honey mooned at Calibistie Lodges and enjoyed it. Theonly problem we had was that the food was pricey so we had to go to Portsmouth everyday for food… Hope the new owners are as pleasant as the former ones and they just need to work on the price of food for the quality reaceived…

I have stayed at Calibishie Lodges/Dominica Sea View Apartments on several occasions and never experienced any problems. The new owners (since end of August this year) are also very pleasant. The only criticism I would voice is that, also the food is ok, it is not outstanding and a bit pricy for what it is. Calibishie needs a restaurant that offers fine, quality food at an affordable price. I am sure that would prove a huge success. And finally something else, the restaurant area is infested with mosquitos and that needs to be addressed.

We stayed at calibishie lodges last year July only for 1 night though – stopover to Soufriere. The owner Chris and his wife could not be nicer. The food was great, service excellent and Chris was really helpful. We even saw him in Town and he a couple of weeks later and he even recognised us. Loved it and would stay again.

This establishment was sold to a lovely mixed
couple and things are running smoothly now.
    I had the same problem.

Again, we must teach our establishment that tourism begins at the local level. We need to educate and showcase who we are to our own people then our local people indirectly will market us!!

I am a Dominican who resides overseas. My husband and I visited Dominica last Christmas and stayed at one of these establishments (won’t say the name because Admin may not post my comment and this needs to be said). I made and confirmed (prepaid) all arrangments via the Internet. When I arrived to pick up my keys, the owners of this establishment were SHOCKED to see that we were black. As a result, we were spied on, treated with contempt, ignored – unlike the other guests, who were white. I don’t want to play the race card here – but I have to say this – DOMINICA IS OUR COUNTRY. OURS – BLACK PEOPLE – THE DESCENDANTS OF SLAVES ALONG WITH THEIR CARIB COUNTERPARTS BUILT THIS COUNTRY. DON’T YOU (WHITES, CHINESE, SYRIAN, OR WHATEVER) THINK YOU CAN COME TO OUR LAND AND MISTREAT OUR PEOPLE. As an aside – I will never, ever, ever, stay at this place again – regardless of the discount offered. INSTEAD, MY HUSBAND AND I BOUGHT A HOUSE IN OUR COUNTRY, TO STAY IN THE NEXT TIME WE VISIT. AMEN!!!

You really should post the name of the establishment.
