DDA hosts US, French journalists

The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) hosted US journalist Elena del Valle from the publication Simon & Baker Travel Review in July of this year.

As a result of this visit, two articles were written on Jungle Bay Resort and the Fort Young Hotel.

The purpose of the visit was to inform potential travelers of the types of luxury accommodations which can be found on the island and the ways in which each attracts their respective clients.

With well traveled clients reading these articles they are able to obtain first-hand information about the properties and view some of their great features.

Dominica continues to make headlines in the media throughout the various markets and this allows for the destination to be present in the minds of the potential visitor when considering their next vacation.

The service providers on the island continue to assist with the exceptional service to the journalist allowing them to produce great articles on the destination.

DDA will also host six journalists from France on December 9 – 14, 2011.

This trip is being organized in partnership with French tour operator Allibert Trekking.

The group is expected to hike a segment of the Waitukubuli National Trail, hike to the Boiling Lake, visit the Indian River and the Touna Heritage Village.

The following media houses will be represented on this press trip: Le Telegramme, Les Dernieres Nouvelles d’Alsace, Midi Libre, I Trekking, Le Dauphine Libere and Le Nouvel Observateur.

It’s great to see ANY exposure for DA. But it is always the same old bunch that get wheeled out. Fort Young? Good lord almighty. Is that the best we can do?

I find this strange that whenever there are positive news about Dominica the comments are either none or very little. Whenever it’s about negative things especially in politics we quick to jump on it. Why do we hate our country so? I know exactly why, it’s because we are an all black country, the house slave and yard slave mentality.

ADMIN: People complain that we don’t post “positive” stories but when we do, they are ignored. SMH

i wonder what being ‘black’ have to do with it… and ADMIN self supporting that statement… admin should know that ‘negative’ news always sell…. not that we should ask for negativity but let’s be real… every news channel and magazine has a juicy news on top… people will always ask for positive news especially in d.a where many are politically blind…so for e.g when there are many negative vibes about the d.l.p and they taking licks on d.n.o comments… the supporters with shame in there eyes do come and say…. ‘oh dno not putting the positive things that going on’… this is when i’ve observed such statements…. it’s human nature… just cause u don’t see comments doesn’t mean people not reading… it’s just not ‘juicy’ enough to convince people to leave a comment… like now… u made it a ‘black’ thing… well that was juicy enough to respond lol

Well ADMIN, you should probably offer them less negative material such as the “distasteful African Porridge” that was served on a golden platter last week. They relished it and and still cannot seem to stop offering comments on it. They can only take what you give them. They don’t have to comment but you can at least attempt to offer a more tasteful menu.
