Parliamentary Representative for the Paix-Bouche Constituency and Minister for Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development Honourable Roslyn Paul is working with villages within her constituency towards community tourism development. Plans are being developed for the preparation and implementation of activities to meet this goal. The village of Paix-Bouche is piloting a sensitization event, a planned part tourism package.

The King of the Mountain race craze has taken over the community of Paix-Bouche by storm and is promising to be the event to remember. The event is carded for Sunday 31st of May 2015 at 3pm. At the helm of the event is the Paix-Bouche Tourism committee. The event comprises of 1.5 miles of a steady uphill battle from the Paix-Bouche bus stop at Sous on the highway, to the very end of the community near the last dwelling home.

The growing media interest around the event combined with some prize money has generated hype prior to the race. As a result both professional athletes as well as non-athletes are eager to participate in the event. This is what makes the event so unique; absolutely anyone can participate.

Cash prizes, medals as well as trophies are up for stake and so participants are most eager to battle for the title of King/Queen of the Mountain. Upon the completion of the race and post the prize giving ceremony, there will be steel band playing and the notorious Paix-Bouche Drummers entertaining the crowd. There will also be traditional ring games, dodge-ball, skipping, hoop and many other hand games on the ground to entertain the people present. Therefore both spectators as well as participants will be able to join in on the fun.

The King of the Mountain Race promises to be an absolutely exhilarating experience that will be shared with others in the region especially the French West Indies as part of our tourism package.

Sponsors include: Jolly’s Pharmacy, Dominica Brewery, Silver Lining Car Rental and apartments, Northern Contractors, Iso’s Construction, Plan Home Décor, Alexis Taxi Services, Scodek Electricals’ Tossy’s Construction and the Paix-Bouche UK Group.

what about the unique village of calibishie. the best tourism destination in Dominica. the government has never done anything in that area to improve the potential and tourism product in that area, i could remember the people had to block roads to get a simple thing or a mandatory thing like road fixing. shame on the government of today and yesterday for not placing emphasis in this area. the government is talking a bout tourism? not doing a good job at all. neither the past governments. please develope calibishie village. it gave our island a big boost in terms of tourism.

Tou twell what are you really saying? The minister is also a parliamentary representatative with responsibility for the Paix Bouche constituency. This means that she has a responsibility to plan and organize activities for the benefit of her constituents. She also has responsibilities as a minister which means that her planning will be focused on the island. She has to separate those two at some point and that exactly what she is doing . Although when her constituents are taken care of , the entire country benefits.

The people of Paix Bouche are behind her 100% so keep it cool and stay in your nest.

Whosoever wrote this article I commend you. But the description that was given to Paix-Bouche Drummers is very unpleasant “notorious”. Please do some research about the meaning of words before you use them. The Paix-Bouche Drummers are a set of positive young men and I think they are very much uncomfortable with this….

I cant understand this. I cant understand Ministers of Government focusing directly on their constituencies to establish projects when as a Designated Minister….. In that case…Minister of Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development ….. they are supposed to be focusing on the National Picture. What we are seeing is a decline in the organizational structure of the respective ministries and Ministers/Parliamentarians/the government/”The labor party government/ in a scuttle way trying portray themselves as high and mighty using the Government Machinery for personal gain “in the future”. That particular event the minister is doing working with villages in her community, in my humble opinion is a fraud. I remember some lady and her son? trying to do some international biking tour in the north or Paix Bouche to be exact. If that group had been given the support, or this project done in collaboration with a group like that, to me the project would be more meaningful.
