A tragic incident has occurred in Antigua and Barbuda, where a young cricketer, 16-year-old Vonde Bowers, lost his life after being fatally stabbed during an altercation in the Grays Farm area on Tuesday night.
According Reports indicate that Bowers was found in a gutter with multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Family members revealed that he suffered multiple stab wounds to both the chest and head. Bowers was a fourth form student at Ottos Comprehensive School and was known as a promising cricketer who recently represented Antigua and Barbuda in a UK tour with the Under 19 team.
He was also a member of the Mahico Cricket Club and had just returned from a tour of England and Jersey Islands with fellow young cricketers a week prior.
Authorities have taken another 16-year-old into custody to assist with the investigation. Police are working to determine the events that led to this tragic incident.
I can’t even imagine the pain of the parents of the deceased. Inconsolable emotional hurt they have to endure.
