Sons of SMA Foundation, following the successful launch of its memorial scholarship, has pledged to uphold the three pillars of scholarship, mentorship and stewardship which guide its mission.

Through its efforts in reaching out to the “old boys” of St. Mary’s Academy, the Foundation recently provided two scholarships worth up to EC$2000 each, to two (2) deserving students entering SMA. A merit award worth EC$400 was also presented to a worthy student for exhibiting outstanding moral character, sportsmanship and academics.
Co-chairmen, Kimani Augustine and Byron Winston, along with Makaza Dinnard and Gregerz Joseph, led the efforts in rallying alumni of the prestigious St. Mary’s Academy to donate the funds needed to award two deserving students with full scholarships.

Makaza Dinnard, Director of Public Outreach, said in an interview: “We are proud to continue helping our alma mater and are extremely optimistic of the future in being able to help even more deserving individuals pursue their educational goals.”

Sons of SMA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in Houston, Texas, whose motto is: “Sounding the Call…Reinvigorating the Pride” provides scholarships, stewardship and mentorship. Their goal is to further the mission of Saint Mary’s Academy of producing strong ethical leaders, promoting ideals of the ‘Ora et Labora’ standard of excellence, and fostering advancement of current and future generations of SMA students through integrity and faith-based stewardship and mentorship.

The scholarships and services provided by Sons of SMA would not be possible without public donations. By contributing, these individuals, businesses, and corporations are helping to expand the level of awards and positively affect students.
